Oooooo a new Christmas thread, how exciting!

I've started to read it from the start but couldn't wait to post so will have to go back and read the rest!

Going back to a couple of things from the old thread first...

Aurora - what a fab idea to bind all the bits together - I'm going to do that too I think and thank you so much for the link, you are a star,.

To the people from the previous thread wanting ideas for a gardening themed hamper, I did two last year and included:

    hand cream
    nail brush
    kneeling mat (Wilkinsons)
    gardening gloves (Poundland)
A 5 year gardening diary (Wilkinsons)
A "world's best gardener" mug (Wilkinsons)
gardening tools with a fancy flowery design (Poundland)
    gardener's soap (Wikinsons)

I'm making another one this year and so far have freebie gardening seeds, a gardening themed notebook and notelet set and a gardening book that was reduced.

The Wilkinsons bits from the hampers I did last year I didn't get until November and they had so much choice in their Christmas gift range. One of the things I bought was a gardening set but I split the bits up it came with into two hampers.

M&S outlet store has gardening bits reduced at the moment and so does Lakeland but they are both a bit pricey. On the other side of the scale, Poundland has a lot of stuff at the moment and as it's summer I think now's the best time to get gardening bits.

    Ideas for relaxation/pamper hampers:

box of chocolates or homemade chocolates or truffles etc
mini bottle of wine and a wine glass
    A cheap dvd
    nail varnish
    bubble bath
Snowman soup or hot chocolate sachet
    nail file
    hair turban (Poundland have these)
    a book
    a face mask sachet
    How about making a cd
    fleecey blanket
    candles

I'll see if I can think of anything else.

Right I'm off to read everything from the start!

I didnt see where ppl wrote about the gardening hamper but I made one a few years ago that looked like a giant cauliflower! (it wasnt intentional!) here is is on my blog

wilkinsons have a 75% sale in the summer on the gardening stuff i think aug/sept so keep an eye out :)

Have updated the blog this morning gang! http://thriftygifty.blogspot.com/ It is basically just a condensed version of the main posts on here and the other thread. Please let me know (via PM) if you think anything else needs to be on there as I may have missed something and don't wish to offend ! :)

Just found a great deal on HUKD, a Targus (designer) laptop bag which is a backpack or can be on wheels for less than £15. £30 is cheap for a Targus, so £15 is just a silly price. Might be useful for someone! http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/439135/targus-15-4-laptop-roller-backpack-/ plus you earn Tesco points!

[Edit: Paddingtondoo I can see you hiding and lurking, so come out and play bag lady!!! ]

I assume most of you have seen this but Mars are doing a promotion where they are giving 1000000 free balls (cricket, tennis, rugby, football) away. I won a rugby ball! It is very nice :D You either get a code on your Mars wrapper OR just enter your e-mail address(es) here http://www.marsballsgetbritainplaying.com/bounce/no-purchase-necessary.aspx and there is no purchase necessary.

    Morning all,
Am feeling a lot better, although still all phlemgy (sp?) and managed to fall asleep with my ashtray by my arm and, being to restless sleeper I am my bed is covered in ash and the floor either side is covered in fag butts grrr (I know, I shouldn't smoke lol)

Am still sticking with the knitting just now, mainly because the patchwork and the cross stitch involve 1) me going upstairs to my crafting room when I want to stay in bed and 2) a bit more concentration than I can promise!

I already have a lever arch folder for organised presenty crap (as oh pleasantly labelled it) so just need to get me some dividers and I am sorted for the challange.

    Hi All

Just having a mooch around on the OC thread and came across this simple make

    t_dustpan_cookies.jpg

    http://organizedchristmas.com/dustpan-cookies

    While baking you some cookies,
there was knocking at the door.
As I jumped up to answer it,
the pan fell to the floor.

I stood among the cookie crumbs
    and wondered what to do.
The day was late, the time was short,
I had no gift for you.
I bent and swept the cookies up
    into a small dustpan.
A friend like you, I told myself,
    would surely understand.

The gifts that matter most in life
are those the heart does send.
With that in mind, I give to you
    these cookies from a friend.

Pretty easy, and one to be used all year round.

    Great simple idea.
