Thanks sammy kaye - really helpful to see it all like this:

    Grand Plan Deep Cleaning/Organizing Area:
    Front Porch (garden)

    Holiday Prep
    Make the following lists:

Gifts to be given, amount to spend (include family, friends, school, church, etc)
Christmas card list (computerize it!) Print list and update it, if needed. Decide how many cards are needed.
    Visits to make
    Parties/Entertaining
Menus for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, other parties
Goodies for Sharing/Gifts. Decide how much needs to be made and divide it between the weeks from now through December 1.
Favorite Meals of Family members for freezing ahead.
Long-term shopping list divided into: canned foods, perishables for each holiday, linens and dishes, decorations, etc.

    SO : to do today
Make menu lists, meals to freeze list and stock cupboard list
    All other lists are done
Clean front door and all front windows and step
    Sweep front street!
Try and get ahead and start on next weeks which is living room as need to get all this done by nov11th if poss!

Anbody got any ideas - I have a lot of vouchers and gift cards to buy, I have a couple of boots ones to buy and I will get points for them, but I was thinking hmv, etc for others, where could I buy them so I can maximize cashback or points!!, if I bought them online I'd still have to pay delivery, wouldn't I?
I know morrisons does loads of gift cards so would be really easy to get all at once but no points gained!! does tesco do gift cards for other shops??!!
    any ideas lovely people xxx
p.s. have to buy these - no time to earn them - any I'm earning on surveys are going on argos and amazon for dd and husbands gifts.

  • Happy Birthday Sarah! Hope you had a great day.

I love the OC plan but never follow it exactly. This week I am starting to tidy our bedroom as it is a shambles - kids seem to have transferred a lot of their stuff into it through the holidays and there are piles of clothes to be sorted (summer stuff, clothes for charity, clothes from older DD to be put away for younger DD etc etc).

I'm also going to start writing my Christmas cards and start the menu planning. I don't know why but that's my favourite bit! (the menu planning not the card writing!)

    Have a good day everyone!

    Love

  • Morning all!

I've missed loads - so sorry! Been decorating hall, stairs and landing all weekend! But wanted to add this idea - for the lady who was thinking of something for the naming ceremony, and also for a space themed hamper!! Shining Stars - cuddly toys where you can also name a star. Here's a link to some I found on Amazon. However, if you search a bit more, you can find the wider range online. Hubby and I bought a monkey one on our way back from our honeymoon, and last christmas we bought loads for children of ages 5 - 16 (!), and one adult - they all loved them! If you choose an animal they love, the naming a star thing will be an added bonus - and even adults love the naming a star idea. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gr8-Plush-Shining-Stars-Bunny/dp/B000P0HGUW

Happy birthday for today Sarah! Looking forward to seeing the cake!!

HMV.co.uk has Quidco cashback and free delivery. Otherwise you could search for free delivery codes too?

Mine too - I did mine already:

    Fennel and orange salad
Roast duck with all the good stuff and bonus roast potatoes (I actually meant Yorkshire puddings. Damn it.)
    Eggnog cheesecake
Chocolates and coffee and sitting about

Dinner will no doubt be sandwiches and picky bits. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

    Lovely day to all :)

    Xmas Saver!
dont know if its been mentioned before so apologies if it has, but Argos have a new feature, whereas before if you went through Clearance you had hit and miss as to whether it was avaliable in your store, now you can type in the town you want to visit / ur local town, and it gives you all the clearance items at that store only.

I've just got a set of wine glasses for a house warming present, and it was the last set. Sounds daft but it does make a massive difference, and also if you have more than one Argos locally its worth checking both stores as I found different things in both clearance sections, which wasn't at the other store.

There are some brilliant bargains to be had, espically kids toys, anyone who needs them.
    (wine glasses- )

After an opinion as well, would you like to recieve them as a house warming, the situation is, its a family friend, her son, hes going from home, shes giving up her old house, there starting a fresh new rental, so guessed that she will almost have everything, and didnt want to go above £10. More token gesture. x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
