My mother in law has jsut informed me that my nephew is mad on space etc and i mentioned it and thought that would be a good theme for this christmas presentSa
I like to spend a little more on him as he tends to be forgotten about by his parents to a degree but he is definitely a theme person so am looking fro ideas.
So this year it will be space so needing ideas - already thinking the moon in a room and he has a telescope already. Might name a star for him too.
Should add that he is 12 and He has aspergers/ adhd and autism so when one thign gets stuck in his head its best to roll with it as he tends to stay stuck on that one subject or specific thing.

Not much done today.............just managed to get on here for a few minutes.
I did get Mars Nasa certificates printed out -am going to cover a kitchen roll middle and roll them up like a scroll-and coffee prayer and had free sample of Baileys truffles arrive this morning..........decent size box so that will do for someone.
Not sure if I mentioned yesterday -got two videos from charity shop -40p..........one was The Snowman the other was one all about Father Christmas............do for little grandson. Hoping to go to boot fair tomorrow weather permitting then need to finish off some post it note holders and a notebook............must have a 'tick box' list so I know where I am -all feels a bit in a muddle at the minute:eek:
If I remember right, felt like this last year but it all came good.............:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Morning All
Been Really busy this week, not had much time online, DS1 is back to school on wednesday and DS2 the week after, so doing all the last minute organising.
Having a bit of a panic as it's my birthday on tuesday, OMG I will be 30:eek: had not planned anything as I wanted it to pass quietly lol.......but OH has dropped the bomb shell that he has invited friends round to help celebrate:eek: so what can I do???? I am chuffed really but will have to help organise it or it will not be a thrifty occasion if you know what I mean.
Any Ideas would be much appriciated as my mind is full of Christmas Things at the mo, I will probably do a buffet for the food, and I have a Chocolate fountain that I could put on

Hello Sarah,
Many happy returns in advance of Tuesday! I'm six years behind you but you can't let 30 pass you buy without marking the occasion in some way and how nice of your OH to invite some friends round to help you celebrate.
Yes, it does mean entertaining and spending money though doesn't it?! Yes, I think doing a buffet sounds good and you'll be able to do a range of things.
How about...
salad, choice of cold pizzas, potato salad, coleslaw, sandwiches, cold meats, quiches, potato wedges, platters, etc.
I think using your chocolate fountain would be a fab idea, how about doing skewers of different things that people can dip into the chocolate? Sainsburys are doing two boxes of strawberries for £3 at the moment. You could also do marshmellows, fudge, nuts, fruit, etc.
If you wanted to do another dessert also, how about jelly and ice-cream?!
For drinks, how about making a cocktail or two? Do you have any spirits in the house?
I don't shop there so can't comment on what their food is like, but all the tv adverts about Icelands are about parties and their range of foods, here is a link to their website all about party planning and entertaining - http://www.iceland.co.uk/page/view/iceland_for_busy_mums_planning_a_party
All the supermarkets are competing against each other and are all trying to do value food for £1 or less, I've seen it at Sainsburys and Asdas and Iceland do £1 adverts.
Here are a couple of sites for inspiration...
mydish - fab site, I discovered this a few weeks ago when it won on Dragons Den - http://www.mydish.co.uk/index.html
BBC Food - http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/
Hope this helps,
