You can arrange this from 24 down to 1 (a countdown) or from 1 up to Christmas. I always do it from 1 to Christmas as it encourages the kids to count the days that are remaining until Christmas -- it never hurts to sneak in a bit of counting practice *grin*.
Let the kids break into one of the cups each day until Christmas. Materials:
    • toilet paper rolls (13)
    • scissors
    • glue
    • construction paper
    • black marker
    • small wrapped candy
    • OPTIONAL: paint
    • OPTIONAL: bow
    advent1.jpg

    Instructions:
    • Cut 13 toilet paper rolls in half.
    • Paint the toilet paper rolls or cover them with construction paper.
    • Cut circles out of construction paper (just trace around one of the largest toilet paper roll ends to get the size of the circle).
      • You can fold the paper in half a few times so you get more than one circle at a time.
    • Glue a circle onto one end of each tp roll half.
    • Let dry
    • Drop a small candy into each little tp roll cup that you've created
    • Glue a circle onto the top of each tp roll half.
    • Let dry
    • Use a black marker to write the numbers 1 thru 25 onto the closed tp roll cups.
    • Tape two pieces of construction paper together to make one large sheet (or use a piece of poster board)
    • Arrange the cups in whatever way you wish and glue them onto the poster board (we just made a rectangle, but you could arrange them into a Christmas tree shape, a candy cane shape or a wreath shape)
    • Add a bow if desired.

Well, had two attempts with bostik, notebook and some sort of faux velvet (grey) -thought it would make a more masculine notebook. Would it stick ? Would it &&*&**&!!!
Not to give up I got a piece of kitchen curtain I'd used to cover another book and fingers crossed, so far so good..........just have to wait for it to settle and stick something on the inside covers to cover up my botch ups...................:rotfl:

OH said yesterday - not long till Christmas !! Think he was just trying to scare me..............still got to do
    Cobweb chasers (4)
    flannel reindeer (2)
Fill up little cofee pots (keep forgetting to get cinammon)
Fill up snowmen and jars with marshmallows/bon bons for snowballs - be last minute thing
    Cover two more shoe boxes
Finish door hanger for son's partner for Sept. birthday
Finish door hanger for son's shed
    Buy diaries and cover them
Get Calendar and put photos in

    HI All

    Quick update

Had a small bleed on Wednesday night, rang birthing centre who couldn't see me until Friday, the bleeding stopped Wednesday night, started again Thursday afternoon but wasn't a major bleed just a slight bit and with no pain at all.

Anyway went this morning for a scan expecting to see an 11 week pregnancy, first ultrasound showed nothing but an empty uterus and my face was exactly >>> so was partners and trying to hide my face form my 5 year old. The midwife said to do a vaginal scan so little one and boyfriend waited outside. Was on verge of tears at this point.

Baby was found a few seconds later, safe and well. Although must be only newly pregnant because instead of the 11 weeks I thought I was and last period date went from - I must of caught just before my next period was due and I am in fact 5-6 weeks. They examined baby and took measurements - baby is 6mm and the heart is nice and clear and beating strongly. (which makes me 6 weeks I think)

They saw the yolk and saw another cluster in the uterus with the baby which measures 5.4mm but they couldn't detect a heartbeat but they have called me back in another 2 weeks as they said it might just be it is developing slightly slower than the other one or it was very weak that it couldnt be detected as they couldn't get a clear picture to see what it was exactly. So you'll al have to watch this space for now.

I have to go back on the 28th August for another check up scan and they are going to look at the second cluster to see if it is an embryo as it was deemed 'too early' to tell.
    Time to find me again

A similar thing happened to me with my daughter Sammy, they couldn't find a heartbeat at all at the first scan and thought that she had died, I had to go back for another scan a few days later to be sure and then there she was!
