It has increase by £30 a month and this is over the summer period, god knows how much it is going to cost over the year. E on were meant to be cheaper. I can't understand it.
I am tied in until May 2010. I will be changing back. My previous company was Atlantic and they are obviously much cheaper.
Hi keithboy
Sorry for the delay replying. I have been out of the office since 1 October.
Did you actually join us in May 09 or was this when your payments went up to £90/month?
If you joined for a period prior to May, it may be you were under paying for a time. This will have resulted in a debt building up on your account.
The monthly payments would then have been amended to reflect your actual usage and pay off this debt over a few months.
If you actually joined in May, what info did you provide when setting up the monthly payment arrangement? If you provided details of previous usage based on kWh the monthly amount will have been based on this.
Are your bills based on actual readings rather than estimates? If they are estimated, I would suggest calling us with accurate readings and ask for your account to be re-billed to these and your payment arrangement re-assessed.
What tariff are you on? It sounds as though you could be on a protected price tariff, possibly Energy Saver 7.
If this is the case, the unit rates will be protected against any increases until the end of the deal. Initially, though, you will have been paying a premium above our standard rates.
It may be protected prices are no longer for you. If you would rather make savings now give us a call and ask to go on another tariff. If you are on Energy Saver 7, there will be no charge for changing tariff, just supplier.
Also, pop your usage on to a comparison site and see how we do. It may be, as stewie_griffin says, it's better for you to change supplier now and pay the cancellation fee.
Just a heads up, if you do decide to change supplier we do not give any discount on the final bill. Therefore, you need to time a move away to lessen the impact of this.
Hope this helps a little. Give me a shout if you need any more info. Always glad to help.

For a new customer to start say now, in October, you would want an artificially high DD payment whereas I suggest you take 1/12th of the annual consumption.
Hi property advert
Always a difficult one. We have to choose a time for the annual reviews and spring seems to be the fairest, although I know this will not be the case for everybody.
It's swings and roundabouts really. Whilst credit should be built up during the summer there may also be a time over the year when accounts will be in debt. It's a case of trying to find a balance.
Accounts are reviewed after each bill and the Monthly Direct Debit adjusted if either too high or too low.
Holding customers money towards future bills is one of the reasons we give discount for having a Monthly Direct Debit.
Definitely take your point about higher payments for people setting up a Direct Debit mid-term. Have fed this back to the 'powers that be' before and will gladly do so again.
Once the annual review is reached, of course, payments will be re-assessed and set over a full year.

Then bathe in cold water and put more clothes on instead of using the radiators!
And while your at it, give up smoking and drinking and sell the car - then you'll have the cash to pay.

Am I the only person thats happy with E-on?! Checked my bill today over the phone, after giving meter readings yesterday. Total for gas and electric over 3 months - £52! Happy bunny here0

I've been with e.on for 2yrs since my previous supplier up'd there monthly fee 30% yet e.on said their prices were lower so could match the original monthly payment. 2yrs down the line they have now said they need to increase my monthly bill by 150%.
Two gripes; firstly, why do e.on not monitor accounts so that any underpayment is put right the next quarter not 2 yrs later then suggest I should have contacted them to increase my monthly payment - as if I know anything about tranding/seasonal factors etc. Secondly, I had allegedly not set up the account correctly so I was paying 11% more than I should - would have been nice to be told I'd not done something correctly.
I have no problem in paying for the usage but I expect the supplier to be competent enough to manage my account and adjust my DD in a timely manner rather relying on me analysing my account and telling them the DD should increase.

Take regular meter readings and give them to your supplier and you wouldn't have a problem.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

My main gripe with E-on is how quick they are to increase my direct debit if I owe them but go strangely quiet when I'm in credit...mmm...
Eg today I received a quaterly statement saying I'm £140 in credit. Yet last year when I went £30 into the red my direct debit was immediately set by an extra £15 pm! If all things are supposed to 'balance out' in April then why adjust the payments at all? Why not wait until the end of the year and readjust next years payements based on annual usage?
Have to say I never really know where I stand with this company and always have an uneasy feeling I'm being taken for a mug"I always pass on good advice. It is the only thing to do with it. It is never of any use to oneself" -Oscar Wilde0 -

For the last 3 years, Eon have always reviewed my account in June. Any credit balance is immediately repaid (this year it was only £12, but they still refunded). They have then reset the dd based on my annual usage. My only gripe is that recently they have taken to reviewing it every quarter, and then amending my dd every quarter. This I don't like as I never know where I am.0 -

They all say that. Remember if you use £50 a month of gas/electric they can set your direct debit to £30 to get your businesses. But guess what, you are getting yourself into £20 of debt per month and you will have to pay this back.0
