There was a whole thread on here yesterday about this and now I cant find it. Just wanted to say I emailed them yesterday to ask them to remove my details and I received this reply:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your Email.
We are receiving over 2000 emails daily, so to speed things up we have now made it possible for you to remove your own details using our website.
If you search for yourself, you will see an option on the left- the ‘remove me’ function. Please follow the easy steps and your details will be processed for removal.
By using the ‘remove me’ function you will be required to enter some personal details so we can verify and remove you quicker. However it is still taking up to 30 days for removal.
If you are not happy leaving your personal details on our website you are able to fax requests in on 0911 443 4433 please remember to state your full name, address and postcode as it appears on the website. This is guaranteed to get you removed straight away within a few hours.
Please note that we are unable to take phone requests for removals.
We aim to have you removed within 30 working days via the web, or Within a couple of hours via our fax number 0911 443 4433.
Thank you

I have emailed back saying I do not want to give out personal information in order to remove my details and neither do I wish to pay out in order to fax them. I restated my wish for them to remove my details. If anyone can point me in the right direction for yesterday's thread I would be very grateful.

Why worry about the information being available anyway? Electoral rolls are available elsewhere.Happy chappy0

Electoral rolls are not as freely available as they once were. There has been a clampdown on who is allowed to view your details, due to the data protection act.Ellie

Sorry Ellie, don't know.
There's no redirect to say it's been moved, so I'm as much in the dark as you I'm afraid. Herman - MP for all!

By law, your local authority has to make the full electoral register available for public inspection. You cannot have your details removed from this register. The only way not to appear, is to ignore the registration notice
The edited version is the one that is available for sale, for any purpose but commonly for direct marketing purposes.
Credit reference agencies are allowed to look at the full register to confirm your name & address. No-one inspecting the full register is allowed to pass on your details.
More information from the Electoral Commission
What we don't know is where b4yousearch are getting their information from. Are they passing on details from the full register? Or are they allowing you a way of "inspecting" it. I suspect this is a minefield of legal difficulties that hasn't yet been tested in the Courts.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac
