BUT - some of the information they publish is from the 2001 Electoral Register. The pre-dates the edited register. The new edited register only came in in 2002, so the full 2001 electoral register is, I believe, fully available to anyone and can be bought for marketing purposes - even though it might be out of date.

pre 2002 register cannot be sold by a local authority. Finding any other suppliers who already have the information will be difficul, once found however telling them to remove your details will be easy, it's working out if they have complied that would be difficult. They may also have pre recorded CDs with your data on (which should be destroyed).

Laws need tightening to make it illegal to publish or pass on pre 2002 electoral roll information.

Well volunteered Wig, I'm assuming that was you saying you would begin a petition and represent each and every one of us at 10 Downing St. to protest a motion be passed!:D
