I use A&L. The banking is fine, but they whap you for charges if (as I did) you go o/d by 36p for 1 day  £24 IIRC
They charge you for breathing. And recent transactions don't show up for days and days, unlike Barclays where they show up instantly.

I've done no flying I'm afraid apart from hang out the washing. Am going to do dinner soon. I'm still feeling a bit bleurgh and am just chilling out with DH, we are watching last nights Torchwood as he was out when it was on. Going to my Bible meeting tonight if I feel up to it, otherwise will listen in on the phone.

Tooch, I do online banking with Barclays and A&L – Barclays is brilliant, I really love the way they do their only online banking thing. However, on the whole online banking is great, and I only ever go to the bank to pay cheques in, as I do everything else online and it’s really easy

Welcome back Newby Money Saving Chick

Glad you’ve found the step counter Blimus, I'm on 4972 so far today

Hugs for Boddy’s friend, hope her husband comes back soon and is ok

    WELL DONE Msgnomey

Orkney I love the picture, it looks nice where you live

Congrats to soappie's DiL and msg :T:T:T:T

Mudbath - it's definitely the second one

Blimus - looks like you've found the step count

I haven't even done 3000 yet today... I foresee more walking in the dark tonight :o

Conference was great - any queries about the Carbon Reduction Commitment, feel free to ask :D (actually, don't... but I can tell you who can help!). They also had a showing of The Age of Stupid which was great.

Friends daughter did my shopping for me, which is great. As she's unemployed for the uni holidays, I've suggested she advertise a kind of personal concierge service - doing shopping, running errands, house sitting, dog walking, feeding pets, horse-sitting, car washing, babysitting etc which will at least fit in with her own commitments (studying for one retake and looking after/training with her horse). So I'm now about to make the middle section of the cake slowly, calmly, and hopefully correctly :o

Back later to update you... then I'll need to get more clingfilm before heading off to have my legs waxed and my hands and feet tidied up!

Oh yes... and I had a call from a headhunter this morning, who has sent in a very interesting job description, and its based in Basingstoke - it would be nice to have a job so close to home (although somewhere abroad would be good too... I hate making decisions ... but then again, I think I've got quite a lot of the process to get through before I can start thinking like that!)

Tag, what’s happened in your road? I guess the chippy was boarding up something. The button: if you look at your post about the police and go up from your name (or any post at the top of the page), above where it says the day and time, it has views 9888 and then a down arrow – that’s the view first unread button

I think it was a domestic. Chippy was sawing wood to board up a window. Just happened top notice as I took DD to school this morning. Which really means .......I was able to get a really good look as I had to walk right past it to take DD to school.:o

As for the button. No still can't see it!!!!

I have just cleaned my mouse, as it wouldn't roll and point to the right it on my screen, now it rolls like a goodun!!

Why don't you get a laser mouse.

I used to undo the old mice that we had, to clean them out. Very theraputic!! But I always, always ended up pinging out the springy bit inside.:mad: A laser one doesn't get fluffed up.

    Hello everyone!
Our PC died this morning so I'm sneakily using DS's laptop while he's out. I hate the mouse thingy, much prefer a proper mouse & can't get on with copying & pasting etc, so I shall just put:

    THURSDAY

as my list & post when I've done everything!

Gig last night was brilliant, though I think I am getting a bit old for the crush down at the front! Am achy & tired today!:p

Took DD to hospital this morning - at the last opticians appt they picked up a 'freckle' at the back of her eye that hadn't been spotted before. They took a photo at the hospital & she has to go back in 6 mths to see if it has grown. It may be that she has had it since birth & it just hasn't been noticed before, so that's what we're hoping for of course. Haven't let on that I'm worried, DD seems ok with it.

Also went to RSPCA to drop off some senior cat food that we won't use anymore. Ended up being very charmed by some new black & white kittens & their lovely mum. Oh dear - I can see a new arrival very soon!

Big congrats to soappie's DD, that's a great result & also to msg, fantastic new job news!

I'm afraid all I've done flying-wise today is shop & put it away, but then I didn't get home till after 3pm.

Off to make a start now...

Middle tier of cake now made, and just cooling before going in the fridge. Hopefully it will be set by the time I get back from the salon, so I can then make the final layer (which should be easy, but given last night's problems, I'm not going to make any assumptions!)

Suppose I should empty the DW really... and then wash & change for my appointment (can't really walk/mow the lawn, as I won't have time to make myself presentable!).

Mudbath - one of my team at work is off with it to, just a matter of time for us now it is in the village. Fingers crossed for your DD.

    Off we go then....

Hex - I think it's the same here. To be honest i'm not overly worried about it. I have mild asthma but that's about it. If we get it we'll just hole ourselves in and wait for it to go. I've got staple foods in to feed us and a couple of new dvd's to entertain the children. Nothing more we can do.

Greenbee - thanks, I was thinking with that amount of walking it must be the larger number. I've now realised the other one turns itself off after a few minutes inactivity. You have to open it to turn it on again. Rather annoying! I'm up to 16450 now. Not bad so why aren't I stick thin? Probably because my body is used to walking that much so it's used to it...i'd have to walk more to lose weight or do a different form of exercise I guess.

    Hex - in my hhc which became an hour and a half I;

    - cleared dining room
    - made tea
    - s/s kitchen
    - split meat and put it in freezer
    - filled in medical forms for children for sports week this summer
    - put receipt in envelope for scanning company
    - filled dishwasher
    - picked up dog poo (delightful!)
    - put clothes in dryer for ten mins and then hung to dry

Not bad! Off to do another HHC 545 to 6pm xx
