    WD40...

Ink is not (usually) water soluble and biro ink is thick so you need a solvent BUT some solvents will 'go for' plastics. Don't use nail varnish remover (although you could on fabric - I am assuming this is a lino type flooring). If you haven't got WD40 try lighter fluid or petrol or turps substitute BUT patch/spot test in an out-of-the-way place first.

I notice Toots has also come up with some useful suggestions BTW.

    (QUOTE]
    Thank you.
I have tried WD40 it didn't touch it, not a bit.
I have also tried... white spirit, star drops, wu liquid, tooth paste, mr muscle bathroom cleaner, bio washing powder.
Just tried petrol - no joy.
The only thing that made any difference was hairspray, but it diluted the mess and then spread it about. I will have to go and buy another tin from poundland. His room smells so odd, I have the window open so hopefully it will be ok by the time he gets home tonight - is away in paris until 12 midnight so time yet to clear it.

    Apparently it's a secret:confused:

    From FAQs

"The more you post (write or reply to messages) on the boards, the higher-ranked MoneySaver you become. There are four levels and at each you get another star and change of title. The exact thresholds are a closely guarded secret. However, it’s all perfectly fair."

that explains why I've never been able to find out! I just thought it was me being dumb

ETA: maybe it's also to do with how frequently you post and how many times you've been thanked? oh dear I'm thinking about this far too much! off to flap for a bit
    weaving through the chaos...
