    Morning all

10 pages to catch up on  Miss A has gone to camp so it is just W and I for the w/e. Off for swimming lessons in a bit then I am ringing for a wedding while a friend takes W to McD's for a treat :)
ANW'sMum - have a good day. Glad to see an employer recognising long service, but be prepared to be stared at by 'young ones' who think five years in a job is weird

pah long service recognition from the employer??? It was me buying the cakes lol but we did enjoy them. Calculated between 5 of us we had 82 years service  and one of those was 5 yrs! The scary thought is that if I was to work there until state retirement ages then I am still not half way there :(

Morning everyone. Have slept like a log as I was shattered. It appears DDs phone has come back to life after it decided to have a drink of lemon squash. So not meeting her now. She has been offered a job at the home but its only 12 hrs and they say she can pick up more hours but its not guarenteed. But she says its not a good idea as she will be up and down to the council each week. It will affect her housing benefit. Ive made a SW quiche for later.

Have sorted my pedometer and it looks like we have a flylady walking club.:o

Im going to do the dailies then the weekend list.

pigpen, MOJ2,TAG and Me Big hugs.

oh well the toddle is of....Something to do with the weather being horrendous at the moment...

    Anyway the firebrigade:

Wednesday last week we we were all going out for the evening so after a busy day. Mrs OJ wen tto use the shower..and puled the switch on the wall at that moment while standing there in her birthday suit, there was a buzz, a crackle and smoke poured out of the shower unit.. Meanwhile i was upstairs eating a quick sarnie before going out, My dear wife lets me know the shower is on fire could i help...my normal non comittal groan informs her, yes i have heard just let me finish eating....After about 4 second's my wife has come into the bedroom upstairs again informing me (this time with a little note of panic in her voice) that the shower really is on fire and smoke is pouring out of the unit..

So I wander downstairs look at the trip switch for the shower and it hasn't tripped so, I knock that off and walk out to the shower room, Oh Suzi is right there is smoke comming out of the unit maybe I do need to do something.. So out to my garage I go to get a screw driver, so I can remove the cover.

After removing the bottom screw, the smoke now starts... whats the phrase oh yes BILLOWING...Now Not bothering with the top screw I remove the cover and use the Kitchen fire extingisher sparingly on what is now a nice little roar of a fire...

The fire is now out.. nut what to do we need to go out and I don't really need it to start up again while im not in...

A quick phone call later to my father (a now retired Officer in the local brigade)

8 mins after that a big shiny red truck pulls up outside of my house. ( now I had an inkling I would know one or two of the dear fellows inside,) What I didn't bargin for was knowing every single one of them as they pulled up got out laughed and told me to put the kettle on....

After much humour ( of which I happend to be the victim) and a few gallons of coffe later, a go in the engine for the kids, we finally went out for the evening..
