Why don't you d onoe of those competitions where you sell tickets for a tenner or £25 and whoever gets the winning ticket gets your hotel? e.g. http://www.sandbankslife.co.uk/0

Would permission to convert to something like this be an idea:and in case you are wondering why im asking questions regarding them, all this is starting to make me ill now.

e.g. turn a few rooms into classrooms - little else necessary; but I imagine there are a fair few language teaching couples fancy running a language school and the rates they pay per week way above hotel rates..... just another idea....0

Lovely to see that you are being more positive and proactive.
I would take no notice of any "in principle" decision by the planners, my Dad had a house on the front of the South Shore and was assured by the council that planning permission would be given to fully glaze his balcony. He got it done and was refused.
Shocking council, the balcony looked miles better and they made him take it down. This from a council that allows shops selling shoite to open up overnight and have signs written with a bloody paint brush in massive letters.
On the subject of students, would I be correct in saying that your hotel is about as far away from the college as is possible in Blackpool?
Are you going to go on Laterooms, if you are not already/S!!!!horpe0

a raffle isnt a bad idea.......... if you get enough people participating. otherwise, you're screwed.
re: the language school. that comes down to planning permission again.
we're not quite that far away dazco. however, we're right next to where they were going / are still hoping to build the new campus.
we dont use laterooms. theres a few reasons for this, the main one being we dont employ a receptionist.0

 Do you feel more positive?
Is the website redesign a freebie?
Do you feel posting here has been useful?
Sorry if prying. I think a lot of people genuinely interested and can see there are a lot of good things and appreciate that you and wife work very hard in a very difficult and competitive market. You seem to have many happy customers.0

            QUOTE
with regards to quick buy companies. i realise they buy at way below value. why wouldnt it be viable for them though?
Quick buy companies want to quick sell, otherwise they're losing money in interest payments, cashflow etc.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

is that a legitimate question, or are you looking for your next holiday destination
 i jest. course theyre not
barnaby: no, yes and yes. the help here has been fantastic, and along with the new website (imminent i hope) we'll see what happens.
im less positive as it does feel like every avenue i explore in terms of selling the place is a dead end. without going on about it too much, there is a strong feeling that the supposed blockbuster season will be very short-lived and no-where near expectations. i strongly suspect that one way or another, this will be our last season0
