Looking for a newer car - does this look a good buy?

The Kia Ceed and the Hyundai i30 are effectively the same car, the Kia has a better warranty. 7 years as opposed to the Hyundai 5 years.
Hyundai parts are not all that expensive TBH, nor are Kia ones for that matter.
 The findings of a survey carried out by Warranty Direct seems to prove this;
" Hyundai cars have some of the lowest repair bills in the industry, according to a survey by Warranty Direct.
In a survey of repair costs in 2003, the Korean company was ranked 6th in the table, ahead of Japanese giants such as Toyota and Honda, as well as SEAT, VW, Mitsubishi and Renault. The average repair bill last year for Hyundai was £246.38, way below the all-round average of £379.31.
Since the launch of Hyundai’s pioneering five-year, unlimited mileage warranty in September 2002, the company has also been commended by the Consumer’s Association for its initiative in reducing costs to the consumer with its peace of mind package "
 Good luck.0

Thank you for that. I always think that parts and costs are probably much of a muchness when you actually compare like car for like car (certainly were when I worked for Citroen cars many years ago). All of these are going to be cheaper than the Audi A4 I was considering:j"there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0

Does anyone have any experience of companies like Broadspeed? Do they really deliver on service or does the whole experience end up in major hassles?
I appear to be able to get the same car (in a nicer colour:D) for around 2K less through them so unless they are a real problem it seems a sensible route to go."there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0

If the dealer won't do a deal - walk out! Other dealers and good deals around, regardless of the scrappage scheme.moggylover wrote: »Does anyone have any experience of companies like Broadspeed? Do they really deliver on service or does the whole experience end up in major hassles?

Not heard of Broadspeed - and as not at work, can't check the service schedules, sorry - on a two weeks 'stacation' as the Amercians now call it!!!
Trying to remember the website re Block exemption.........
 www.r2rc.co.uk - I think.....
Now go check out the Skoda's - think you may fair better with one of these! Out of interest, roughly what sort of annual mileage do you do?Genie

" Broadspeed " are just car brokers, like DrivetheDeal etc.
If they can give a better deal than the local dealer, I would use them, or another broker.0

Just about to go and check out the Skoda - the dealer is very local and that has to be a plus point.
Not a huge annual mileage - somewhere between 8 and 10K.
Have already managed to get quotes of more than £2K less than the original one at "local" Kia dealer 30 miles away in Kidwelly - so will be looking for a price match or going with one of the on-line dealers I'm afraid."there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0

I had a Kia Ceed out on a 3 day trial offer a couple of years ago, I was very impressed with it, build quality seemed very good to me, the doors closed like an old Rolls Royce.;)
Skoda are also very good cars, so you will not go far wrong with whichever you choose.0

Hey Moggy, a bit far away from you but I have been looking at this firm and you mentioning mobility issues made me think it might be worth recommending them - they mainly sell ex mobility cars so the mileage is reasonably low and the cars are also in good condition. The prices seem very reasonable as well and you get all the aftercare you would expect from a big firm

The reason I asked about the mileage, is that if it were low, its not always great to be locked into 5 or 7 years warranty and 'forced' to have larger services than your car needs...
We service cars under warranty strictly to manufacturers instructions etc., but out of warranty we 'service as necessary' and only replace what needs to be replaced. Bit of common sense really and not wasting our customers money!Genie

If you fancy a Ford - this place is brilliant - but sadly a bit of a distance from you.... it's where I got mine from. They have lots of ex lease cars - mine had only 2k on it when I bought it - it was just over a year old.
 Blinding deal!!
