There shouldn't be any problem, there certainly isn't as far as the banks are concerned.

Why not give them your sort code and account number and his name to keep them happy? The banking system will only work from the sort code/account number anyway.

Biggles why do you think this is right? - what you are referring to is to put it bluntly money laundering and you could be investigated by the authorities or your account closed if found out.
There must be a reason why OP wants this - probably credit problems stopping him opening an account - but of course basic accounts are available to all bar bankrupts and fraud cases.

No it isn't. There are no illegally obtained funds here.

If you believe this is money laundering, please cite the legal basis for doing so, and also explain why there exist no AML checks or procedures around the naming on domestic funds transfers.

I have all our money paid into my account as I manage the finances. No problems here. However, it may just be company policy that the money is paid to the employee only.

Why don't you get your Partner to open a Halifax Reward Account. Have his wages paid into that then he can transfer the money to you. If his wages are £1,000 or over he will pick up a free Fiver each month.
  • for the last 11 years i have had my wages paid into my wifes account with out a problem.
it is not a legal requirement to have bank account, whoever it is a legal requirement to pay your wages as long as you give them permission you can pay it into anyones account. (pm me for my bank details:rotfl::rotfl:)

I take it then that Barclays would take no action against a customer if this was found to be happening?
How would Barclays accurately internally score a customer for their products (eg loans or cards) when the money going into that account is not theirs?

Surely, once the money is in the account, it becomes the account holders money, or am I missing something?
