when will people realise an i phone is just a step up from the normal phone and not a full smartphone

with the 5800 atleast you can use a full blown satnav instead of googlemaps, with the iphone your just paying for the name

Presumably you have to pay for it though? As I have a TomTom unit already I can't see me buying another.

my only concerns with the 5800 are browsing the net with the touchscreen - not quite as responsive as an Iphone (but what is?) and the quality of the image from say watching bbc iplayer - can never find a phone dealer with one set up to try unless I sit down and pretend to be interested in taking on a contract.

    .

The only thing I thinks a bit odd on the iphone (and the itouch) is no multitasking... I've a windows mobile pda running 03 and on that I can start the music player, drop back to the menu and fire up an ebook reader and use both at the same time, with the Apple op system you can only do one thing at a time... seems a waste ??

Are u serious that u cant multitask on the iphone? For such a high spec phone this is really poor.

I use the mp3/fm transmitter and tomtom on my nokia n85 all at the same time.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Surely a fairer comparison pricewise with an iPhone would be with an N97?

Most of the comparisons I have seen are with the iphone 3G. I wonder how the 5800 shapes up against the 3G S?
