I totally hear you LP. I suffer with OCD and a anxiety disorder, which result in me being a hyper organised control freak... unless it comes to denying myself something I really want, then I'm all for diving in head first if it makes me happy!

A day of admin and paperwork... I need a day to do some of that, and some baking! As it's my last day tomorrow, I'm baking cakes instead of buying... chocolate orange muffins and giant cookies anyone? :)

Solcitor just rang. Thats missives etc all completed on new house so we officially officially move in 4 weeks. Very legal and scary. I prefer orange cheesecake muffins ;).

I think i will shove a tattie in the oven and have a baked tattie for lunch :) Question is what topping?? cheese? chili from the freezer? cheese and beans or tuna?

Cheese and butter gets my vote!!

My last HV for DS3 was lovely - she really was my lifeline as I had some horrible stuff going on at that time. DS£ was also small (<6lbs when born and was late) and only made it to the 1st centile the week of his 1st brthday - but my HV was fab and sad he'd get tehre eventually - she was right (GP wanted him referred to hospital) I exclusively b/f him until did BLW at 6 months. (Actually, he's still b/f now at nearly 18 months) I can't believe how much you lot have said formula costs - ouch!! I'm lucky iin that I've always been a cow when it comes to b/f - loads of it there (although I'm now at the stage where I want my body back - before this one I b/f DS2 until he was 2y 10m and only stopped because I was pg with DS3 and had a CVS because of hugh risk (1:47) of Downs) I've therefore been pg and/or b/f for a constant 67months!! (I'm not even going to thnk what it would be if I added in DD & DS1..!)

All my kids have been small. DD was 16th centile whilst a baby/ toddler. Both she & DS1 are grammar school. DS2 has just started reception - parents can put up 'magic moments' for their children on a board (eg: swam a width without armbands, rode a bike without stabilisers) Some of the recent ones have been 'wrote his name by himself', 'counted to 15', typed his name on the computer wthout help' DS2 (5 in Jan) can count backwards from 100-0, can turn the PC on, open internet explorer and find CBeebies, has been able to type his name on the PC for about 18 months, could write his name and count to 20 at 2, can spell 6 l;etter words, do simple multiplcation and division. I thought that was 'normal' for his age - apparently not! Teachers said he's more like a Y1 child. However, he was only toilet trained over the summer hols (flatly refused to do it until he went to big school!) so they're all different in their own ways!! :D

LP - would you mind awfully if I PM'd you with a query about payments into a pension and self assessment? Have never had to do that on a SA form before... (cheeky, I know....)

    Cheese and beans... every time...

If I was on death row.. that'd be my last meal. It's my favourite food ever! Good for hangovers, comfort, cold days, long days. (Okay a tad fanatical and now very hungry!)

I'm making a ginger nut biscuit cake/cheese cake as well LP... I'll keep you a slice ;)

we had 'parents night' for dd1 at nursery last week. she can count to 100, group blocks by colour, amount and shape and do simple maths like 4 red blocks + 4 red blocks = 8 red blocks. you couldn't sit and say whats 4+4 because she wouldn't have a clue but she gets the whole sets thing. She can also memorise books and recite them back again while turning pages, you know the spot is hiding, spot in the rain, spot gets lost type books. OH is most impressed and shocked as he struggled academically all through school and thought that was normal. Her nursery teacher was actually my teacher too and she is a family friend so she was just very straight forward with She takes after you. She is getting bored with nursery though, only turned 4 last month so we are trying to encourage an artistic side as she isn't one for wanting to draw or make things unless its baking. thinking icing ginger men in new house

Thanks for that LP - have sent it :)

ztan - I'll help you with any spare choc orange muffins! ;):D

ETA: your DD sounds like mine, LP. The memorising books thng is great - but it does mean that you can't skip anything if reading to them and you want to make it a bit shorter!!:rotfl:

  • My youngest is very advanced academically. He is being given work way ahead of reception level because he does it all and asks for something 'more harder, because those sums are for babies' - I'm trying to get him to reign it in a bit! However he cannot hold a pen very well and finds writing/drawing hard. If he is on a computer he can type it out beautifully. Current tactic is 'well I'm sure it's all correct Sam but can you write it a little bit more neatly!'

Cheese on a JP everytime btw.
