well i have hit a bit of an issue with tv/phone/BB. We do not know if there is a BT line already in the building, we assume so but BT won't tell us, instead they was the full installation fee upfront then if they get there on install day and a line aready there they will delete the cost from our line rental. We don't have the £130 before christmas. We are toying with the idea of just having our mobiles and seeing what happens once we are in. I think the kids will miss cbeebies mostly TBHMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

I think there has been a minor miracle in Chez Pixie tonight. I told OH that we needed to 'discuss' money. Now our discussions of money go only one way, I talk, OH pretends to listen, I ask for his imput/opinion he says he hasn't a clue and what do i think, i say what i think and he agrees. We then do what I think and he just wallows about doing nothing then moans is I ask if he paid x y or z as per our 'conversation'.
Tonight however I wanted to go over the mortgage offer, baring in mind current mortgage is mine alone I have never really spoke about it other than we pay £450 for mortgage. So tonight i go offer the whole offer, the fee's that we have had to tack on the end, the term to meet affordability until OH debt mostly gone and finally plans to look into switching to offset and reducing term at end of 2 year fix but if that impossible and SVR lower than current fixed rate we will continue to pay fixed rate. He cam to the conclusion that what we will be paying back if we pay minimum payments for the full term is the equivilent to 2 porshe's. I thien showed him what overpaying £70 a month would do, shave 13 years off term and 'save' 68k interest.
I think i may of converted OH to be a MFW and he hasn't even set foot in his 'own' house for the first time yetMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Well done you. Converting DH by using something big that he would probably love to have.
See if he will now help you out though or if he still leaves it to you.
The phone line thing - my kids have not been watching anywhere near as much telly recently. Maybe the rest of their toys reappearing might help keep them occupied. No sneaky way round it? Can you not look in the phone book and see if they have a line? Or just ask them?
Personally i know that i am rubbish if i have no internet. I went stir crazy last year when our computer broke until the ILs bought us a new one. DH would walk in the door and i would hijack his laptop. Without it i found it really hard.0 -
I think i will also go stir crazy with no internet i hope on and off all day plus I pay all bills online/bank online too.
I can't ever see OH taking enough of an interest in finances to actually do anything but hopefully should reign in his kevin the teenager type strops when I say i would rather overpay then do x y or z.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Afternoon All
My OH lets me do all the finances as well, I've told him I'm going to overpay our mortgage by £75 a month from Jan 2011 and he said 'OK'. I do all the shouty phone calls when things go wrong, all the complaining when companies try to do you over, direct debits, credit cards, pay bills etc etc. Men are rubbish at it! :rotfl:
The chicken run is half built and not moved on today as its so wet outside but OH did the ironing instead. :T
Back to work tomoro, where did those 4 days go??!KimmyCustard :j0 -
I will return tonight with updates. Bought ourself a dining table today. A bit £££ but it was lovely and is solid wood so i'm happy. It really is a last forever piece.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

I can't find it on the website :S and if course i never took a picture instore but it is solid oak, oiled rather than varnished with 6 chairs. It extends to seat 10 so really rather bigMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000
