oh Don't Gally. Could you cook in a kitchen with a pink splash back?

TBH I thought the kitchen sounded lovely :o! I have seen photos of a colleague's kitchen which sounds similar & it was stunning. If you go for very pale blue walls and maybe black toaster, jars etc. it will calm it down a little but it sounds v cheery!

I think no. 3 sounds best (now I've slept ;)) - no. 1 may look great now, but wait till all the furniture is out & pictures are down & see how dirty the walls are - then you would need to redecorate anyway!

  • I'm glad you said the kitchen sounded good gally. I am intrigued by it. I'm sure you could live with it longer than you think as long as it is practical. We've managed 6.5 years in one that is not even adequate. We have cork covered cupboards for gods sake, including the pantry door, only 2 cupboards, and tongue and groove on one wall and the ceiling stained wooden colour, a mismatch of very ugly peach and red tiles on another, and then green carpet tiles. Mmmm tasteful. I'll have to take some photos for my thread so you can see just how bad. :D

The garden is my saving grace. If the kids are happy, you are happy.

  • I could live there. At least it is all modern even if not to your taste, and cosmetic stuff can be done in your own time. Kitchen is not that bad. I am not so keen on the white cupboards, but that is probably cheap to replace.

Was thinking as looks quite new I could probably get away with changing doors but its the white gloss shiney units and they wipe down very easily.

Anyway until we accept and offer on this we can't move anywhere and it would be just our luck to decide it was perfect house then someone buy it before we had chance to offer even although market is flatter than a supermodels chest.

I think the kitchen is lovely :o. It's only one bit of pink for goodness sake! The units & lights look like a lot has been spent on them - there is a big difference between a lovely kitchen which is just not to your taste, and one which is inadequate.

Garden really nice, looks tucked back from road and am assuming is in quiet location anyway. Good luck :)

Gally - yep it's in a cul de sac, the road is actually like a bunch of grapes its a cul de sac with lots of little cul de sacs offit each with 4 houses. The other side that isn't shown in the pictures is more pink but its glass upstands and then emulsion between the up[stand and wall units. It is actually nice, like the lighting on floor and it seems to have alot of feature lighting in rooms.

Solicitor called with feedback from viewers. One doesn't like, kitchen too small for requirments, 2nd says its ok but has more to view, not ruled out but not madly in love with, and 3rd likes and has appointment later today with view to making an offer but wants a quick turn around. My sol thinks we should look at viewing some this week as OH not got any more holidays until paternity leave.

Congratulations on the offer! :) Will you ask them for the extra funds to see what they say?
