Fab ebay sales, bet it has cleared loads of space too. I find ebay a bit hit and miss so haven't listed anything for a while.

    How did the viewing go?
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!
  • LP,

I see, different sized bottoms! Am glad to say potty training is a mystery to me.

Yes, how did the viewing go, did they hum and har and shake their heads as though not interested, whilst secretly planning new curtains?!

no idea TBH, all very low key, said she didn't like colours of bedrooms or hallway which is fair enough but really its just paint and walls all been replastered so perfectly smooth base. Think she was a magnolia all ove rthe place person where as we have some colour.

  • Well done on ebay. I am at about £25 for 5/15 items at the moment, but i have a few items where there might be a bidding war. It makes the boredom of last weekend a little more bearable at least. :D

It does Michelle. I relisted the 10 i didn't sell last night to give it another bash. If we get nowhere then I might just take all to a charity shop.

I'm having a small dilema. ANyone about with an opinion. We are looking at 2 houses in same area. a street apart and literally 40 steps from each other. House 1 is a fixed price and is immaculate, seriously a case of move in, unpack and maybe look at decorating kids rooms in late 2011 early 2012 as quite neutral. We would need a 112k mortgage. Small front garden, decent back garden with a seperate decking bit then grass with usual accumulation of kid toys.

House 2 is an offers over price so room to negotiate. Internally is ok but my mind is thinking kitchen needing modifications plus its electric heating. Totally livable and npt an OMG i NEED to rip this out but is something for future. If we can negotiate to price I have in mind we would have a mortgage of 103k

House 3 is just on market. Fixed price as well so doubt we could negotiate. Motern internally but not 100% our taste. Think white gloss kitchen with black glitter stone worktops but with fushia pink glass splashbacks and upstands. Dining room pale pink with fushia feature wallpaper. Its the sort of house you think OOO that looks cool but couldn't live with it and wouldn't choose yourself. Garden bigger than house 1 but not house 2 because they have built a garage on part. Could be some small room for negotiations considering V little moving but if not mortgage required would be 110k.

So mind is saying not a clue what to go for or why. House 1 is lovely and the house you think WoW. House 2 thinking lots of garden space which is important for kids especially consdiering we will have 3 under 5 but internal work needed sooner rather than later. House 3 has benefit of a garage which is a plus point as we have 2 cars and decent gardens for 3 kids. Internally is better than house 2 but not as nice as house 1 and modifications would need to be made. Other things like the small bedroom is painked glaring pink with pink flooring and we have no idea what sex baby is and even if we did I think its a bit too shocking for a newborn nursery where I prefer pastels.

I and trying to justify if house 1 is worth 7-9k more mortgage to us. Does the nicer finish and lack of hassle warrent the extra money and reduced garden space. Could I live with fushia splash backs?

I'm liking house 2 as you can decorate and do the work at your pace if you are able to move in now. Do you estimate the works will cost less than the difference in price between house 2 and the other houses? If you think the work costs less then 2 all the way for me.
