Poundland have some very good dvds at the moment - I bought a few last weekend, including some hobby-type ones (they had several about fishing, cricket and rugby and also some motoring ones including the history of Land Rovers). They'll make good (cheap!) stocking fillers for Mister C J. I also bought a copy of Brief Encounter for myself
They also had Shilpa Shetty's yoga dvd, which I bought for my teenage daughter who reports back that it is very good indeed. If anyone is thinking of making a yoga-themed hamper it would be a great addition to it (maybe with one of those foam yoga mats, non-slip socks, a hand towel and a water bottle??)0 -

hi everyone,
adding to my post earlier in the week, i have done a bit more xmas shopping today and i went out and bought my son a surf board for his main xmas present, i havent got a clue how im going to wrap it or where im going to hide it but it was a bargain .
i saw it about a month ago and was £340 for just the board , no way could i pay that, so i walked past the shop today and noticed the closing down sale signs so i went in and i got the surf board with bag, wax, straps ect for £120 i know its still alot of money but my son has been saving for the board and has about £60 so far.
im sooooo pleased0 -

A clapper board

or you could try making a personal one.
Or how about this as wrapping or ribbon, if you are doing more than one you could cut it to size - http://www.partystuffonline.co.uk/Description.asp?ProductID=12133
Their own Hollywood walk of fame star for only £2.16! http://www.partystuffonline.co.uk/Description.asp?ProductID=9015
or a pack of 5 for £9 http://www.partystuffonline.co.uk/Description.asp?ProductID=13730
A clapper board snack tray - you could maybe use this as the base of the hamper rather than using a basket - http://www.partystuffonline.co.uk/Description.asp?ProductID=5357
8 popcorn boxes for £2 - http://www.partystuffonline.co.uk/Description.asp?ProductID=1208
An award for £2.50 http://www.partystuffonline.co.uk/Description.asp?ProductID=7251 or you could make one. They also do a man and a woman trophy but these are more expensive.
If you are doing more than one or ones for couples - 8 Hollywood walk of fame coasters - http://www.partystuffonline.co.uk/Description.asp?ProductID=12390
You could make these yourself - http://www.partystuffonline.co.uk/Description.asp?ProductID=1163
Hollywood snack tray - http://www.partystuffonline.co.uk/Description.asp?ProductID=4495
Plastic popcorn snack bowl £2.50 - http://www.partystuffonline.co.uk/Description.asp?ProductID=1164
Look at the list of themes down the left hand side, there are loads, Mr Men and Little Miss, princess, racing cars, High School Musical.
On another note, I hope you don't mind me mentioning this, I am doing a zip wire for charity in Scotland in a few weeks time to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity close to my heart for personal reasons. It is the longest zip wire in the UK and it's over Loch Lomond! If you would like to sponsor me, send me a PM and I will send you the link to my just giving page. I hope you don't mind me mentioning it, I thought it would be okay as I am amoungst friends. I won't be offended if you would rather not sponsor me, don't worry.0 -
My sister told me today she doesnt want any nic nacs for xmas just a giftcard bang goes my movie hamper idea lol0
-
Oh no! Would someone else appreciate one?0
-
I wouldnt consider a carefully thought out movie hamper a nic nac - its a very generous gift where a lot of thought has been put into it.
Remember she probably classes nic nacs as all those really unuseful gifts that everyone gets each year and never uses.
Just because people make suggestions as to what they want - doesnt mean they will get it.
Ive been asking santa for a 6 bedroomed mansion with a swimming pool for the last 10 years, he must still be building it as i havent recieved it yet. And i've been really realy good as well.
I did some cross stich today for my sons space hamper, its a little spaceman & rocket about 4 inches square - i'm gonna put in in a little picture frame. I was quite impressed especially as it was my 1st attempt.
Now if i could find an In the night garden kit or pattern i would be well away.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

I bought a big bag of maltessers earlier and theres a comp on it saying 1 in 10 winsa DVD, just enter the code found in the bag and see if you have won, i have just entered it and i have WON.
Im so happy - i never win anything, i have choosen ''happy feet'' there are only 6 to choose from but its a free DVD to add to the kids hampers.
The comp is running over all sorts of mars products on big and normal sized bags. So one to keep your eye out for.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
