Bit late but CONGRATULATIONS to mummy2mygirls.
I went into town yesterday and really wished i hadn't but thats another story - stupid buses.
I went to matalan and picked up 8 rolls of xmas paper for £4 there's 16 metres on each roll so an absolute bargain, and a pink fleece stocking for 50p which i am going to sew baby's 1st christmas onto.
I went to hawkins bazarre and got some astronaught food for my DS's space hamper. I got strawberries & neopolitan ice cream £2.99 each.
Bagged a great shirt from new look for my bro to go in his ''pulling'' hamper for £2 plus 2 packs of condoms from bodycare for 89p per pack. Picked up some other little bits to go in it as well.
I'm now on the hunt for some ''pulling'' pants to finish it off.
Got 2 hampers FINISHED - i was struggling with how i was gonna pack them then it just came to me that i was thinking about it too much and i should just get on with it, using stuff i already had in instead of spending more money on bits and bobs.
Have spent quite a bit of time today organising everything - think it must be my nesting instinct kicking in.
CARLISLELASS - (do you live in carlisle) i went into clintons in carlisle yesterday and there was loads of stuff reduced that was from fathers day but i have managed to make quite a few of the items into a new dad hamper for my other half. Adsa also do a giant rubber for 50p which says - for BIG mistakes (this is £2 in HK) and i have put a little tag on it saying - for all the mistakes you will make as a parent, because parents AREN'T perfect and you will make them.
Also have a look on ebay for a baby ''FEED WHEEL'' - ive added one of these as DF is worried that he wont remember what time he last fed baby or if baby has been fed when he gets back in from a night shift.
I also added a HAYNES baby manual book, same format as the one's for cars - have a look on ebay - full of useful advive and diagrams for the new / future dad.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
i have been shopping today and got all the bits for my nephews drawing hamper and was happy because it came to £20 and i thought it would be more (and the rrp was).
i got from the works
a field sketch book
a4 sketch book
tin of charcoals
box of pastels
tin of drawing pencils (differnt sizes)
how to draw amazing things book (which i flicked through and its pretty good!)
then i got a box that was prefilled with
-8x12ml watercolour paints
-a5 watercolour pad
-4 paintbrushes
-3 pecils
-paint palette
-pencil sharpener
-putty eraser
-water dispenser
unfortunatley the box isnt big enough to use as a hamper but it will be somewhere for him to keep his sketch pads
then from wilkinsons i got a wooden mannequin and a box to put it all in! and i will add teh tin of watercolour pencils i already have in my craft cupboard
so thats him finished
i also got my stepdad a shirt from burtons reduced to a fiver from £25, a set with a tie and matching cufflinks from clintons from £7.99 to £1.99 and added to the slippers i already have for him thats his birthday done!
got my brother his underpants and socks (he asks for them every year lol) and with the gift set and sprout book (in joke!) he's done aswell.
i got my mum a set of 3 hat boxes that fit inside eathother and im filling them up for her birthday and going to present them stacked up and wrapped in cellophane. so far the bottom box has a dressing gownn from next £3 in sale! woohoo! 2nd box has some pjs and slippers from tescos but matching. and im thinking of maybe adding a bundle of stuff from lush in the smaller box!0 -

That's a fab idea - i might have to pinch it, :rotfl:

my other nanna i have 'recycled' a gift set i recieved last year and again will get a nice cardi. that will be them finished.
also ive just been sorting out some dvds and came across 2 xmas dvds still in the wrappers (i went a bit mad last year!) theyre both marked at £1 so will probaly be rubbish but i will ad dthem to 2 off the movie hampers i'm doing and it will pad them out a bit!
erm,,, there was something else i got?!?! itll come to me!
thanks princesswoo, the hamper does look quite impressive, if i say so myself!
if ur interested the hatboxes was from tescos and reduced down to about £3.50 (NOT SURE HOW MUCH THEY WAS ORIGINALLY)ooops caps!
theyre green and have a darker green flocked damask (sp?) design all over them, theyre green inside too. not my cup of tea (too dark for me) but my mum will apprieciate them0 -
i wont lie to u queenb, im jealous! our best busker is a accordian playing blind man with a howling dog (who, ironically has only 1 eye!) and he sings a lot of abba!0

ooh i just remembered i got an official mr and mrs quiz book from the works for £1.99 which made me decide to do my mum and stepdad a shared night in hamper for xmas!
sorry, im think im being greedy with the posts on here 2nite!0 -
Well I thought I had done quite well today with Christmas stuff being ticked off the list but certainly not as impressive as the last few posters!
Very good start chaos wish I had a wilko here.
princesswoo - just love the idea of a "pulling" hamper, how clever :T
yippee kye yay - also love the hat box idea, will probably do that for someone's birthday.
My meagre offering was to print out the labels I had "designed" on powerpoint and cut them out  but did receive a wee parcel from halfprice perfumes with bits for my GD2's nail bar hamper which look great.0 -
My younger brother has just started to show an interest in girls / going out on the pull at the age of 18 - was/is a bit of a stay in his room and play on the computer kind of lad but has now discovered there is an outside world.
So i came up with the hamper - i wanted it to come across as jokey and not to much sex related - i am his big sis after all and i didnt want him getting embarrased by it.
So far it has a:
Willy care kit - look on ebay, cheapest place i have found them,
Durex cherry lube,
2 packs condoms,
Pulling shirt,
Aftershave,
Kleenex,
How to.... guide from ann summers think it was £1,
Hair gel, lynx deodrant, bodywash.
Joke blue pills (those blue millions sweets),
Joke - Anti coyote ugly pills (mint imperials)
Still need to get some ''pulling pants''
My other brothers and male family members have given me their ''best'' chat up lines so i might turn them into a little book. Or i might just buy one if i see one.
But my favourite suggestion by far is the paper bag. So i still need a paper bag - big enough to fit over someones head, i'm then gonna cut out 2 eye holes and write ''warning ugly bird'' on it.
I know that sounds harsh (i assume it will never get used'' But its a cheap item to make and fits the theme.
Any other suggestions greatfully recieved.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0
