This is so exciting! I am going to start picking up bits and pieces for my families christmas eve hamper. PJs and pampering things with lots of sweeties to help make the day extra special!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Hi everyone! Not been around for a few days. DS has the dreaded chicken pox and he's really suffered with it - poor little man!
Whilst we've been stuck in I've managed to do some more online Xmas shopping.
I got:
The Polar Express for our Xmas eve hamper (think DS will love this as he loves trains and all things Christmas... just like his mum!)
An accessory for his Thomas train set and a Fireman Sam jigsaw (both half price on the Entertainer website)
I had my Asda grocery shop delivered today with some shampoo/conditioner/cotton wool/bath bubbles for my sisters hampers added on
I've also wrote my list month-by-month so I can see exactly what I need to get and when. Looks like I need to spend around £75 per month for the next 4 months to be finished. Not too bad considering the amount of people I have to buy for.
Think I've decided to make our own Xmas cards too - we made some really cute ones last year (Reindeers - the antlers made out of handprints and the eyes were googley and a glittery red nose) May do something similar this year too.
Can't wait to get back out of the house and looking through those shops for bargains!!0 -
Rummer
we do a christmas eve hamper too but we call it the night before christmas hamper.
We put
A pair of new PJs
A packet of biscuits
Maybe a special Santa plate + cup to leave for him
Some hot chocolate sachets
The Snowman on DVD
Santa Key cos we don't have a chimney
Some reindeer food
The night before Christmas book
A Stocking
The parcel usually arrives as Benjamin is in the bath because the magic Christmas friend has impeccable timing.
We also do our own spin of a magic elf with ben but as i can never find elves it is usually a teddy of some sort, last year in a cancer charity shop I found a pretty floppy dog teddy who had a rubbish old bow on it so i replaced the bow with Christmas ribbon, decorated a box with wrapping paper and stuffed it with an old pillow and left it under our Xmas tree the day after we;d put the tree up with a special note from Mrs Claus which went somethign along the lines of
Dear Benjamin,
Its Mrs Claus here! I expect you didnt think you would be hearing from me before Christmas. Well let me explain I have a bit of a problem and I hope you can help.
Things are so busy up here in the north pole, elves are running around, Santa is busy making sure his sleigh is working and his reindeer are nice and strong to pull it and I have been mending Santa's suit and making lots of cookies for all the hard working elves so they can get all the toys finished for the good boys and girls.
But as you can see I have sent you our poor little doggie Merry, she's awfully sad because we are all so busy and no one has time to play with her or do any fun Christmas things. Its her favourite time of year too.
So I looked through Santa's good boys list and I found your name at the top so I was hoping because you have been such a good boy and Santa tells me he always sees you at the parade every year and that you do lots of christmassy things if you would mind looking after he for me until Christmas Eve. I promise she wont be any trouble but she does like to eat lots of cookies if she's given the chance so make sure you keep the biscuits tin closed!
I;ll make sure Santa picks her up on Christmas Eve when he drops your presents off but just make sure she is snuggled up nicely in her bed each night for me and that she does lots of nice things.
I cant wait to hear her stories when she gets back!
Lots of Snowflake kisses
Mrs Claus.
