hi everyone!
im loving all these xmas threads. the festive season completly rules my head all through the year! i love it!
anyhow, i have almost finished my 2 kiddies presents just waiting to be paid in middle of august and they will be done and dusted (well, until the actual run up and see all the other stuff they NEED in the shops!!)
i have got a lot in the sales, but most were full price. dh's job has a bit of uncertainty about it so wanted to make sure the kids dont go without in case he loses the job.
the rest of my family im hoping to do a lot cheaper this year and i have decided to do movie hampers for my neice 14, nephew 11 and brother 10.
just need ideas for the rest now!0 -
im doing my first ever hampers this year and am looking for lots of things to put in them, i like B&M for some of the things for beauty hampers/sets, the W7 make up line is usually on sale there and dearer online and isnt a bad make either i think, i have a lot of it already for me and some of it is only £1. there's lots of face/hand/eye creams too a £1 or under some of them.
I love B&M but every time i go in i spend £20 ha so i dont go every week!! But i would if i could! Im just waiting to get into town and get to the pound shops!
i like the £1 jars from asda as well as im doing two journal jars, and at the moment im testing out trying to make home made chocolates with different flavours, not got them right yet though.
oh and im going to do some snowman soup now i know what that is!
im going to make a book of vouchers as well and give them to my family as a gift, my stepdad normally has to do a lot of cleaning so im sure he'll like a day of cleaning off me voucher etc.
ooo its fun!!
my family think im nuts, but Christmas to me really isnt that far off and all our birthdays are at the end of the year starting September so if you wait till last min then the bills at the till are eye popping!
after reading all these threads - to my boyfriends amusement - i went hunting through the house to find all the unused smellies i had and didnt want and i've put them in a bag and thats my friends gift for free! im happy if he's not! not seen many men on this thread unless i cant tell by the user-names, there must be some men that have this frame of mind as well to plan ahead.Everybody Wants To be Happy.......Nobody Wants Any pain......But You Can't Have a Rainbow........Without Any Rain !!

we went to the matalan clearance store in Killingworth near Newcastle and i got a santa ho ho ho wooden door hanger for £1.50 but the things i was most impressed with were the tree decorations of both cocktail glasses and cocktail shakers will look good in the cocktail hampers im doing for daughters and at 63p each a bargain.
i also managed to get ,from car boots,a brand new in box 4 bottle bar butler and a nearly new petrol pump type thing for delivering booze both £4

Just want to say thanks for this post again, made the trip up to the Matalan and loved the Christmas clearance section! I picked up one cocktail glass and one shaker decoration 62p down from £2.50 each (they only had one glass, but loads of shakers, otherwise I would have got more), a lovely felt snowman tree dec 50p, 6 felt Santa hat tree decs, 37p and a fantastic popcorn bucket. It's a big ceramic tub in a clapperboard theme, with a packet of popcorn kernels, some candy sprinkles and a S shaped salt shaker, all for £2 :T Perfect for Movie hampers.D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -

If you have an ebay account, look on there for job lots of old keys. I needed some for a steampunk outfit a few months ago, people have sets of about 10 old rusty interesting keys for a few quid, if that's the kind of thing you're looking for.
I've added to my list, I now have to make...
Chilli hamper with homemade food goodies
Movie hamper
Food hamper with lots of homemade stuff
Pots of gold
Lavender basket
Sweetie jar
Jelly Belly hamper
2 lots of sweetie vodka
Snowman soups
Cookie mix in jar, although to be honest I have absolutely no idea who would like that apart from me. So I might just give it as a Christmas gift to myself
Not to mention my 24 stockings advent calendar, birdies, gingerbread men, Mario stars and shabby chic heart tree decorations.D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
