Magic snow - you can get it in hawkins bazaar few £'s a tube, cant remember exactly. It's like little bits of foam, you add water and it expands to look exactly like snow and each little tube makes loads of snow.
I havent seen any xmas cards in the shops yet apart from the outlet centre, i got loads free (about £40 worth) in a goody bag for spending £10 in the clintons outlet centre in gretna green. Each goody bag is different so i was cheeky and asked for a xmas one.
I was up till 4am making a template for little boxes to make an advent calender of drawers (similar to the match box one's) but i wanted the boxes to be big enough to fit a mini mars bars etc in. Took me hours of fiddling now i just have to make 72 drawers and 72 sleves and turn them into xmas tree shaped calendars and decorate them. That should keep me and the kids busy for a while.
And no we are not starting early some would say we are a bit late as they start in january, lol.
I'm only starting early on the craft things i want to make as i know they take a bit of time and i always leave it way to late to start making anything. I wont start buying pressies as such till september maybe, otherwise i would give in if the kids drove me nuts and give them them.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
Does anybody have a suitable ditty for the xmas eve hampers? My brain has frozen and so far have only a few sentences:
Because you've been so good this year
I've delivered this special present early
So you're ready for my visit/tomorrow
I just can't think of anything that rhymes to make that lot fit together and fill in the gaps0 -
Ditties! Poems! Verses!
I didn't do a rhyme for the christmas eve hamper last year but did little rhymes for some of the items inside.
You might find something if you type in the above in the Search box. hope that helpsI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

How about something like :
Tomorrow will be Christmas Day
With lots of gifts and fun
But since you’ve been so good all year
I’ve brought an early one -
A little present just for you
From my special Christmas shelves
To get you in the festive mood
From Santa and his Elves
(ps : I'm rubbish at writing poetry!!)0 -

Thats a fab poem!!!!
I think I'm going hamper mad:rotfl: have decied to make for all the girls in the family- only 3 got loads of HSM, H montana and camp rock stuff for next to nothing on my last trip to the US, for the youngest boy I'm doing Star Wars, my two I'm going to do a Xmas eve one but unsure for the two older boys as they will both be 11 and they aren'e really into anything I can make into a hamper - will have to have a think about it;)
Have also decided to do one for MIL and FIL and thinking who else I can make them for:rolleyes:
Just been to Home Bargains and got a few goodies to start with, got 3 baskets for £4.99 which wasn't bad, came home and told OH who just looked at me like I had gone bonkers:rotfl:
I'm very tempted to make the girls ones up as I have loads of stuff already - feeling quite Chrismassy:xmassmile. Don't know if it was this thread or anther that mentioned the In the night garden mat with the crayons and sponge to wipe clean for 99p, they also had a Roary one in ours so if anyones little ones are into them!!!! Also had loads of Camp rock stationary bits from 49p and also bags!!!!!
I Love Home Bargains0 -

Since becoming Ill Saturday (with suspected swine flu) I have spend loads of time planning for christmas in between naps lol. I have decided to make my sis & bil a movie night in hamper as there expecting baby n02 in nov they will be spending alot of nights in!
So far I've decided to put a couple of films in, beers, popcorn, popcorn bucket, sweeties, chocs, maybe a giftcard for blockbusters/hmv etc..
I've had a look on google images and found some inspiration, I plan on getting a large stripey gift box to put it all in!
Gonna base it on something like this!
I did 2 of those last year one for my friend and her OH and for my SIL and BIL, they were presented in wicker baskets and filled with goodies they went down a treat, will be doing them again this year, and love your idea of the stripey box!:T I thought I would get the movie four christmases this year as the film, but looked at play.com today and it isn't out yet, but that's my planning for the "night at the movies hamper" so far.0 -
That poem is fabulous, i have written it down so i dont loose it in the thread.
We have made 1 xmas tree box calender today - still have to decorate it. What a challenge its taken me 10 hours to get this far, dont think i have the patience to make another 2. I have also been humming xmas songs whilst making it - didnt realise i was till DF pointed it out to me.
Im seriously tryimg to hold of shopping for bits for hampers, but im finding it hard to resist the urge, all i have bought so far are stationary items from tesco's to fill out the kids craft hampers.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

ohh I watched that film at the cinema last yr & rather enjoyed it, I know with xmas films the studios generally wait a whole year until just before the next xmas until they release the films on dvd (to make the most profit) so i bet it'll be out in mid to late nov!!0
