Hello everyone *waves*. Just started thinking about Christmas now but apparently I'm rather late to this thread :rotfl:

Got a few ideas going at the moment but not bought very much yet. So far, a set of four mugs from Sainsbury's, £5.99 for four. They're pink with a white floral pattern. I'm going to split the set up and fill each with fudge wrapped in cellophane, hot chocolate sachets and mini marshmallows, and will give them to DH's Aunts and cousins. I've just bought some florists cellophane from ebay (£3.90 inc postage).

Still got a way to go yet - DH's family is large and it's the done thing to give everyone and anyone something small (hence the mugs!). Lots of kids to buy for too!

They had some white baskets in Homebase today - approx 12x12 or so at the top tapering down to 10x10 or so at the bottom - really lovely for Hampers and only £2.39 each :D

just incase anyone is looking for photobooks, bonusprint have 25% off, the prices start at £3.99, which after 25% is taken off takes it down too about a £1, and postage is only a couple of pounds, i know there not free but cheaper than full price as there is no freebie ones around at the moment :(

Ok, I'm really annoyed. I ordered the golf game yesterday, thinking it would be a fab surprise pressie for hubby. It arrived this morning (can't fault the speed of delivery!) but it was unwrapped! It was basically just the box with a delivery label stuck on it!! And because I'd already left for work, hubby had to accept it!! So he now knows all about it!!

Seriously though, how many people do they think are just buying them for themselves? Surely it's the type of item thats an ideal gift for someone?? So cover it up!!! ARGH.

    Not happy.

how stupid, glad the bits i ordered are for another household!

have posted this on the grabbit board for heavily discounted designer holdalls from RRP£40 to £12!!! ordered one to hold my sisters toiletries instead of hamper and... um....the other one .....um......for me!!

    good shopping everyone.

I'm off to get some more bits tomorrow. 2 of the pressies are on the same code (there is a yellow, green and blue design) at Argos in a 'only 1 of these 3 will be given' (hope you get what i mean). Question is I specifically want one perticular design as although they would be happy with one of the other 2 (green or blue) they would be farr happier with a perticular one (yellow). Do you think if I mention this to Argos they would let me have the yellow ones or do they operate a "you get what your given" approach? If so I will pay that bit more and get the yellow ones elsewhere.

    Thanks.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

When you go into the store take the item number to the desk and ask to view the item.

They will print off a VIEW ONLY reciept, the stock room will then send out a selection of what they have. A staff member will stay with you whilst you make a decision. (so you dont do a runner with the goods)

If the colour you want is there, tell the staff member you want that one, she'll keep it to one side, you then take your viewing receipt back to the tills and pay for your selected item. Go back to the collection point and take your item.

You can view ANY item before buying it.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

:T than themselves - you know who you are!

yes - in the shop go over to customer services and say you'd like to look at the product in all the colours before you order and then when they come say you'll take 2 of the yellow ones. i did this when i got a dora for dd. there were 3 designs and i wanted one specific one - just asked to see all of them and then chose the one i really wanted

any one know any or have any ideas for a free/cheap nice wedding or plain photos album ????????????????
I think £14.99 is the cheapest you'll get it tbh. The first series was £11 in asda today but Im guessing she wants the 2nd series for the yummy Mr Tennant? :D (I hope she's not really young now Ive said that. :o)
Im trying to think of what else ive bought lately, Ive been going crazy xmas shopping. :o I bought 2 rattles for a friends baby for £1 and 99p plus a piglet hat and booties set £2.25. Spotted a ben 10 dvd for £5 in asda so im going to get that when Oh gets paid again. I really need to update my xmas list, Ive bought loads lately. :j

  • Oh and Ive decided instead of giving ohs friends 2 kids a seperate present and their mum/dad a movie basket Im going to do a family movie basket. Asda has loads of great dvds for £3 at the moment, so does tesco actually. A great time to buy your dvds. :) Im budgeting £10, hopefully i can afford to put a bottle of wine in.
    DVD £3
    Wine £3
    Popcorn 75p
    Haribo 50p
    Milkybars for kids 30p
    Fruit shoots for kids 50p
    Pringles 99p
Ooh 96p left for cellophane and a bow lol! (Ive got a basket somewhere i can use or will just cover a box with paper)

Mini baskets for the teachers will contain:
£1 dvd from tesco (feel like a cheapskate lol but need to keep the cost down! Will get the main teacher a £2/£3 one)
    Popcorn x 2 25p
    Chocolate 50p
Drink 50p (ill put in cans as unsure whether the teachers drink alcohol and 2 cans will be better than 1 mini bottle of wine lol)
Ill be splitting multipacks up for these. I might put some home made fudge/cookies in too just to bulk it out a bit. Ooh Im sooo excited. :)
