Well this is the contents I've planned for my Christmas eve hamper for Benjamin and so far I have managed to get the ones highlighted in red.
A pair of new PJs
A no sew blanket
A packet of biscuits
Maybe a special Santa plate + cup to leave for him
Some hot chocolate sachets
A festive mug (although get a feeling it may be spider man for Benjamin!)
Maybe a few pennies (so they can get some milk and carrots for Santa and Rudolph) nice and fresh that way and it is his special job!
The Snowman or Santa Claus DVD/Video
Santa Key cos we don't have a chimney
Some reindeer food
The night before Christmas book
A New Stocking
Santa Stop Here sign
I had a spare Santa key last year for him.
I got him a spider man mug with hot chocolate in last year which he never even unwrapped so im going to re gift it this year for him.
The plate/cup for Santa i got in pound land - its a pack of 4 beakers and 2 snack bowls so figured one of those with some biscuits in could be good.
Managed to get the snowman book in RSPCA charity shop for 49p so that's gone in there and we had a Rudolph the red nose reindeer DVD still in its wrapper for 99p in British Heart Foundation shop so that's in there too
Then the night before Christmas story is a book we always read so its in there.
Think I might add a treat box to the hamper itself too so I can get some sweeties/pringles etc for watching the films with.
Really looking forward to Xmas nowTime to find me again0 -
I have been reading the hamper threads with interest but I was wondering - where do you all source these nice wicker baskets? (some even have a beige liner with ties) cheaply enough to keep them economical? I looked in Wilkinsons website and even there I'd be looking at a significant cost if I wanted to make a few hampers, does anyone have any ideas of where else I could look?
Thanks0 -
People have reported buying the baskets in Wilkinsons, Poundshop, Poundstretcher, 99p store, Home Bargains, B&M, Instore, places like that for £1-2 each. They don't have them in all the time though so you have to keep your eyes out!D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0

I've been lucky enough to chance upon some in the 99p and £1 shops. A few weeks ago I bought a lovely big round wicker basket at the 99p store. The label said it was a bread basket but it's perfect for hampers. I went back at the weekend but they had sold out, I wish I'd bought more now :rolleyes:Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
