hi everyone, i'm new to this site but think everyone's ideas and comments are great. I have't started shopping yet but have plenty of ideas, just need to find some great deals.
Anyone any idea where I can pick up a cheap writing set that comes in it's own box with drawers?Getting married August 2012! :j0 -
Hi guys,
I'm trying to do a hamper for my niece and nephew for Christmas. My niece is into Hannah Montana, so easy peasy - loads of stuff around but I'm really struggling with my nephew who loves spongebob. I've got him pyjamas (primark) and some socks (poundland) but am struggling for other boy related spongebob stuff - any ideas
Want to bulk it out as much as possible, and usually spend about £20, so he's got at least another £10.
My niece has loads - pjs, socks, mug, books, dvd, even a hannah montana box to put it all in!
thanks:beer:

You could also get a Spongebob dvd if he doesn't have them all
You could also print free Spongebob colouring in pictures and make him a colouring book. You could even make a front cover with his name on to make it extra special.Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
OK so what do i do now.
Presents are nearly all bought - but when i spot a bargain i am NOT resisting even though im blowing the budget.
Just seen a half price light saber on grabbit and i had to buy it. Mainly cos i wasnt gonna get one but half price is too good a bargain to miss. And Ds really wanted one and it does go with his star wars theme.
What do you all do when you've finished buying, how do you resist the bargains.
And no i cant give DF my bank card - i have memorised all the details.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

Hi everyone
new to this site and am please to say that I have made my first crimbo hamper for my 15 yr old daughter, with all your lovely idea's. Brilliant 3 to go for oh and 17yr old son. :snow_grin0 -
Hey all,
I'm just starting the Christmas shopping. Have all the wrapping paper and cards bought from the sales last year but only starting to look for presents.
I'm hoping that because of the current economic climate some places may be having pre-Christmas sales. I buy most things online and last year I noticed that as soon as online companies passed their must order before date to ensure Christmas delivery, lots went on sale. I'm hoping for the same again this year and I'll use those sales to buy presents for people I won't see until after Christmas or maybe stock up for next year if I'm good.0 -
welcome to the thread budget!
sorry princess cant help you! as i dont stop lol! i buy everything early just in case anything happens nearer xmas meaning i cant get pressies. but its always with the intention that i will be done so wont have to rush about nearer the time.
however i actually love rushing about nearer the time lol! so i go well over budget and keep buying, altho i have to hide it all at in my parents or inlaws so dh doesnt see. shhh!0 -
moneybags - could try the works, wilkos or maybe home bargains? i also saw some nice ones in british heart foundation brand new (their own stock) but they were about £7.
princesswoo - im the same last year and year before spent way to much on ds but this year im trying to be really strict especially on toys my house is overflowing already :rotfl:didnt know one child could posses so many cars trucks and tractors.0 -
I get the feeling my budget is gonna go out of the window.
I have never been able to STOP buying - even when i have everything i need.
But i am being good - i'm not buying every bargain i see only the ones that are suitable. Unlike other years where i would have bought it and then thought of who to give it to later.
I really want to start wrapping presents up but i would forget what i have bought and end up buyung something again.
Plus the kids would see the presents wrapped up at some point and get all excited and its way to early to be dealing with excitement from the kids. Its bad enough dealing with it all december.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

I really need to stop looking on eBay as I keep seeing stuff to go in OH's stocking and if I keep buying stuff then it's not all going to fit
I keep thinking 'oh it's only a few pounds'. I'm trying to get some stuff done now and saving some for December because if I buy it all now I'll go into town nearer Christmas and end up buying loads more on top.
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
Thanks for all the wonderful ideas. My OH went and booked us a holiday tonight. Only problem is that we fly home on Christmas Eve! Boy am I going to have to get really organised. You lot have made me realise that it will be possible (I hope!). Never mind DS (aged 6) recons we might see Santa in his sleigh on the way home!!!0
