  • Haha Ruth of course you can, I was rushing out of the door as I typed that so only had a minute or so to think of stuff I know people have done.

If you think about what kind of things the person likes you can pretty much base a hamper around it, the possibilities are endless! Some more...

    Top Gear hamper
    Tea lovers hamper
    Chocolate lover's hamper
New Parent's hamper (babysitting vouchers, bubble bath, pampering things, candles etc)
    Breakfast hamper
    Puzzler's hamper
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important
    The Doctor
    Taste The Rainbow :heartsmil
  • I just had the best idea of what to get my Dad this year :j At work his friends call him Lord Nugent because they all secretly think he's won the lottery due to moving to a lovely new house and going on a Las Vegas holiday in a short period of time (tbh I'm quite suspicious of it myself ) and he laps it up, it's this long running joke between everyone. So I was going to suggest to my brother and my mam that we all club together and get him one of those Become a Lord or Lady gift sets, so he will actually be Lord Nugent. I think it'll really tickle him, and he's normally really awkward to buy for so it's ideal. Does anyone know the cheapest place to get them, cheapest I've seen so far is about £15.

  • hi all!
havent been around for a few days as my nanna was rushed into a+e on thursday and we were all told to go and say 'goodbye'. luckily she pulled through!
then on friday i was very ill, i was even hallucinating which was very scary! and the kids have picked it up too altho not as bad, thank god. my son and i are better now but dd is still quite ill. dh wasnt effected in the slightest!!

so the (longwinded)moral of the story is, i havent been able to do much in regards to xmas this last week. altho my friend said they have the butterkist toffee popcorn fior £1 in b&m. its the 6 pack multibag ones. so i have asked her to picked me 3bags up for my movie hampers. very handy having your best friend work opposite b&m, toys r us and boots!
I hope you and your nanna feel 100% soon. xxx Poundland usually have the butterkist multipacks. :)

((((((((hugs)))))))) to all those that have had a tricky time over the last few days, good to have you back! I just realised that I was so focused on getting xmas gifts that I now have no spare cash until my next pay day . I guess weeks of eating pasta will be worth it when I see people enjoying their gifts :D.
Same here, ohs wages weren't too good so have spent what i can on a few cheap bits and now we're skint! Only got paid today.

    Can I add a few ideas? :D
Driving hamper-I did one with a road map, wind up torch, L plates, air freshener, furry dice, sat nag, ice scraper, disposable gloves and hand warmers.

Stationary hamper-Pen, writing stuff, address book, address labels, box to store it all in

Cozy night in hamper-Mug, hot chocolate, fleece throw, PJ's, hot water bottle.

Gardening hamper-I did one for my friend containing a gnome radio, pin handled tools, keyring, book, mug/coaster set, all in a canvas gardening bag.

Sex & the City hamper-My best friend loves this so I put in a CD of the music from the show, a cosmopolitan cocktail drink, SATC game, cocktail book and a bar of Galaxy with SATC compitition on.

Shopaholic hamper-Did this my mum last year and had great fun finding this for it! Pen with shopaholic on, notepad to write all the bargains on, energy tablets, cans of ready made iced coffee, gel inserts for her shoes, tax disc holder (says "whoever says money can't buy you happiness, doesn't know where to shop!), tissues, and a shopaholic sign.

Christmas lovers hamper- :xmassmile Christmas DVD's, oil burner and wax tarts, xmas cross stitch kits, cranberry soap, xmas penguin salt & pepper set, mulled wine fruit tea, candy canes, christmas scratchcard, mulled wine candle, cranberry vodka chocs, xmas bottle opener and some pasta in the shape of moose heads (they almost looked like reindeer!) :rudolf:

Also did a Plymouth Argyle one for my Dad & stepmum.

Driving myself crazy at the moment going through my christmas list and trying to see what hampers I can make out of what I've bought, and what else I need to buy. I bought TONS of bits in the Boots sale, but it's who to give what to....:santa2:

Think I'm doing a party hamper for my brother and his fiance. Have a chocolate fountain from the Boots sale, and some chrome wine stoppers, festive plates, and a ice bucket/tub that I could put it all in. Any other ideas?
How about a cocktail set? 99p store do a great set with stirrers, umbrellas, bottle stoppers etc. :)

Ive just bought a few cheap bits:

    DS:
    Harry potter book 99p
    Car mat and cars £7

    Brother:
Set of 2 elephant photo holders £1 (mad on elephants)
Gaydar keyring £2.81 (private joke lol)

    OH:
    2 x coca cola glasses 99p

    Impulse/Dove mini deodorants 19p each (stocking/basket fillers)

Thought I'd bought more than that. What on earth did I spend my money on today? :o

I think that Kleeneze do them, or look out in the little girls makeup ranges in boots, superdrug, matalan etc.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
  • You might get them in Claire's or in Savers.

    :-)

So first thing... will look through what i have already bought and figure what i still need to get...

Ooo I know what I needed to ask... has anyone found chocolate coins anywhere yet for pots of gold??
