  • Thanks Princess, thats given me some ideas too. I've pre-ordered a couple of Star Wars annuals for £3.99 on Amazon with free delivery. I've also seen a Star Wars kite on play.com for £3.99 which I may be adding too.

Really like the idea of the activity pack! If you see anything else Star Warsy could you let me know, and I'll do the same? Many thanks xx

Hmmm I thought it was on the finished hampers photos thread but I've just looked through it all and I couldn't see it there. Anyway it was a bit like these ones, but nicer :rotfl:

  • i got a set of 3 hatboxes that fit into each other for £3.42 in tescos they had loads in my store. the ones i got my mum are green with flock damask on themalso in green, but there was a hot pink with the flocked damask in black which would be more age appropriate
you could stick in a fleece to share or one each in the bottom box, or maybe if you could get some cheap personalised towels?
middle box could be pjs, socks, maybe a dvd?
smallest box could be sweets, manicure set, mimi make up sets? bath treats?
    hth

am off to a big tesco extra on friday - might have a look for my mother in laws gifts to go in.
    Time to find me again

A stupid question but .................... what shop is B&M????

Couldn't see an answer to your question Funky though I might have missed it!

Google B&M Stores for a list - see if any in your area. I did this last week and found one reasonably near to me (well by car anyway) and found some great bargains. Certainly worth a look.
  • Cheesy - You're no way unreasonable. My OH can't think about Xmas either as it's too early. Also we've both got vouchers from survey sites and work incentives etc so we're not really spending as such.
But we had a disagreement as I have a larger family, my OH is an only child so he didn't want to go halves on the presents as my family would "benefit" more than his. He only buys for his mum and dad, well and me. I had to prise the vouchers from his hand!!!! But like I told him, he'll "benefit" when my family get him presents. So you can't have your cake and eat it.

Anyway if your OH won't go halves, just tell him to get the pressies for his family himself. Maybe he'll learn about orgainsing Christmas before Christmas Eve!!!

Our 99p shop has cards and wrapping paper, also our Poundland and Card factory have started with the Christmas stuff

Little_Miss : thanks for the 99p shop info, much appreciated. Nah, he doesn't learn about organising stuff, that's why he leaves it up to me. i let him do the shopping last year, gave him a list of everything everyone wanted, exactly where to get it from so all he had to do was the physical buying and I would wrap it, etc. Out of 14 gifts 2 days before Xmas he'd gone and got 3, with the comment 'ill do the rest on Xmas Eve' so I haven't got enough calm in me to deal with that stress this year.

I can understand paying seperately if you have not been with you other half long, but if it's been a while or you are married with kids, why is it not combined. Why is it I buy this and he buys that, I don't get the I will bill him in December comments, do you not have joint accounts, are the OH extremely difficult, maybe I am lucky that mine is fine with buying early, we have saved up and have been buying since July, I mainly choose everything for family and run it by him, but he has a say in the kids presents.

Lauhen, I've been with OH for 7 years now, married for 4 and a bit. :o We have a joint account for the house bills, council tax, phone etc. and anything else gets paid for jointly but out of our own accounts... when we first got together we put all our money in one account but he spent it all so i'm not doing that again! Plus within the family OH has the nickname Donald Duck because he is so tight which is blooming annoying if I need to buy anything for the house, gifts, etc I get 'ill pay you next week, etc' hoping that i'll forget between now and then.

I moved in with my OH last year and he thought I was bonkers when I started going on about Christmas in June. This year he's more prepared and is even going to signed the christmas cards I wrote the other night.

Princess box arrived today so I can start packing nieces present up, just waiting for my cellophane. I'm feeling super efficient and fabulous

I love Christmas, just downloaded a new christmas album and I just had to listen to it

I made my Christmas cake at the weekend and we've already eaten the 'taster' one:eek: Wish I'd made 2 to sample:p
  • No worries, I might just pop down anyway, sure I'll be able to pick up a few more Christmassy bits while I'm there even if they have no boxes so it won't be a wasted journey

If i see any in there before you post to say you,ve been i,ll let you know--tho it may be another week before i get there now.
  • evening,
well my hubby lets me make all the christmas decisions. As long as all the bills are paid first i have free reign on any christmas spending. I spread the cost between september and mid december usually, he does help deciding what to get the kids and he shops himself for my pressies. Hes a gem really, never complains about what i get or when and is always thrilled to bits with any pressies he receives himself no matter what they are. Think i would like to be organised early this year and relax a bit more in december.

List of people to buy for done last night and started listing ideas, budget not yet decided on but will be in a day or two.

Doing a joint pressie this time for my friends, they love spain and oneday in the dim and distant future would like to live there. so until then i thought of doing a spanish themed hamper. Anyone got any ideas as to the contents???? got to contain spanish wine if nothing else. All ideas appreciated.
