Hi Jue - how did you find out about the bathfloat stuff - that's a £5 in Boots (gorgeous but too pricey to buy myself) - note to self find poundland and get some
Somebody mentioned it - I think it was on this thread - so I bought some and took the labels off!NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

I found a recipe for Blackberry Whisky (just blackberries, sugar and whisky) that I thought would make great presents. Went to Mr S expecting the cheapo whisky to be approx £7-8 a bottle but the cheapest was approx £11 a bottle (and we want 4 bottles). The vodka, gin and rum were still under £7 (in case anyone is making flavoured vodka or sloe/damson gin). So OH is making a trip to Mr T's in the morning so fingers crossed!:p
If you can get the whiskey in Mr T's I'm sure ASDA do one for about £7 - 8, they do brandy and gin/vodka too. I was looking the other day as I'm doing some vodkas this year. I do like the sound of the blackberry whisky though might give that a try as my uncle only really drinks whisky. Do you just mix it all together and wait for it to form or is there anything else you need to do??

It looks very easy - here is the recipe
2lb blackberries
10oz white sugar
1 bottle of whisky
Put everything into a demijohn or large lidded container.
Give a good shake everyday to dissolve the sugar.
Strain through muslim or cotton teatowel into clean bottles after 3 months.
That's it!
I also read that it is very good in a hot toddy when the dreaded colds strike!:p
OH went to Mr T this morning and the whisky was £10 a bottle, he was threre so he got the 4 we wanted but I will be keeping my eyes open next time I'm in Morrisons or Asda and if it is cheaper I will get some ready to use on the frozen blackberries currently stashed in the freezer.:D

Hi been reading this thread for days, thought i was the only person been buying christmas presents for months so pleased i'm not alone!
JUst wondering if anyone can help, my son will be a year and a half at christmes,it's his first christmas with us so i'm really excited! I know that he won't really "get" christmas, but want to make it special.
I'm going to get new pjama's, dressing gown and slippers, a christmas film and christmas book, and a ickle baby bath bomb from Lush, all for Christmas Eve. Any other ideas? Want to start some traditions off!
Also, for his stocking i wanted to get a little Christmas snow globe, preferably musical. Does anyone have any ideas where to get it? I've been looking online, and some of the are £30 odd, which i don't want to spend on a stocking filler. I want it to be small enough for his stocking.
I am so excited for Christmas and have bveen getting some great ideas from you all on this thread!0 -
