Morning All!
Thunderstorm last night, so the garden got another water:T
Cooler here today, and quite windy and cloudy. Got the washing out tho.
DS has packed nearly all his stuff up. My dining room is full. Don't know what his Father will say, I bet he didn't realise that there was so much!:rotfl:
He's off tomorrow, and I'm dreading it. I'm going to try and not cry till he's gone, but don't know if I'll manage it. OH will be here though, so he will console me.:o
Got Sharps coming today to quote me on my bedroom. Doubt if I'll take them up on it, but it will be nice to see what it COULD look like!:rotfl:
Taking DS out for a chinese tonight with my Dad, DD and her fiance as it's his last night at home.

Hi everyone. Late on here today; DH didn't need to leave for work until 8.30, so I've had a lazy start to the day. I've got the bread dough rising, the washing is on the line, the kitchen floor's been swept, the bathroom's been cleaned, and now I can treat myself to a sit down at my desk.
Dinner tonight will be omelette and salad - it's too hot to think of doing anything too filling. I'll probably have salad for my lunch, too.
The weather is lovely again but, luckily, it has cooled off slightly - only about 26 degrees. Last night we had to have the fan on during the night, though, because it was so warm.
I hope everyone has a great day.

Haribo - Buy your children some proper clothes, you bad mother you!
Had a fantastic storm last night - very loud, very bright and the rain was lashing down, really cleared the air...it's very grey and overcast this morning but muggy and no air again.....
Sat in the garden for a bit yesterday chatting to the next door neighbour, she told us how pleased she is to have us as neighbours and commented on how lovely our girls are and how happy we seem to be, she said it was so refreshing to see a proper family....DH passed a bottle of HM strawberry wine over the fence to her last night as a "thank you" for her kind words...she was really touched.
I need to have a tidy up in the garden, the peas have all finished so they came out and I have a big space to fill, my peppers aren't doing to well so think I'll use the space for something else....I'm thinking I might get some carrots in.....might be too late tho, will have to check.
Had another 10 strawberries off the plants yesterday, about another 15 to go and they'll be done but they've been amazing....DD's have loved sneaking out for a crafty munch. Runner beans are taking over the garden and look so pretty no sign of beans yet tho. Lettuces are doing well and the courgettes have just started to flower.
DD1's got orthodontist at lunch time for her impressions to be taken, that'll be fun, she's a jibbering wreck, have promised her chilli and nachos for tea with lashings of sour cream and guacamole.
Need to swish and swipe and run to the library too...busy busy....hope you all have a fab day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Taplady well done to DS1:j
Julietiff hope DD feels a bit better
Nothing much to tell from here dinner will be something light as DH and DD2 are off to scout camp and DD1 off to a local festival so i will be taking DS to Lakeside to get some new summer clothes as his shorts are bordering on the obseneas they are so tight:rolleyes:
Have a good day0 -
Yesterday DH painted the skirting boards in the living room so I only need to gloss over the dado rail and then we need to clean up and re varnish the floor. Room looks even bigger than it is painted in a cool and calm colour.
DDs are pleased with the new bedroom and hall and stair carpets and took oldest DD to order a new bed in the sales.
Spotlights in kitchen were going wonky so electrican replaced them yesterday with traditional ceiling lights. Just need to get nice shades now.
DD(20) has fancy dress party at weekend so we drove her to look at outfits. Finally treated her to a cute "Goldilocks" yellow gingham and white outfit. It works out as cheap to buy it as to hire, we don't have to drive back in a rush to return it, and she has an outfit she can keep when the next fancy dress do comes up at uni.
Going to have shower to wake myself up and then put washing machine on. If DH arrives home early might try to get light shades.
Have quiche left over from yesterday and will do a pasta dish for DDs for tea.
Hugs to everybody and special hug for those feeling poorly."This site is addictive!"

Morning all
Marking for me today (as you can see, I've had a very boring week!) Not sleeping well because of the heat/coffee/insomina/work combination so and a bit tired atm:( Eye test at 2.30pm - I hate being poked about but my headaches are getting progressively worse, so it's just one thing I need to rule out. OH has to phone his solicitor today as he missed him again yesterday. I have to phone the garage in a sec.
Made rice krispie squares yesterday night. Liver and bacon for tea. OH cleaned the flat, which was nice of him. I made a skirt yesterday (well, all apart from the zip, which, knowing me, means it will sit unfinished in my sewing bag for another two yearsWe also made some tiny cookies and chocolate bars with the Japanese paper clay I bought from the US - I turned one pair into a pair of earrings - the rest are just drying on the table for card making. I need to make a wedding card for a wedding we are going to next week. Probably not with the cookies though
Does anyone know if you can get John Lewis vouchers from Waitrose? I need to get some vouchers as a wedding present  and we don't have a John Lewis round here.
Pooky - glad you have nice neighbours
I need to go and find my former PhD supervisor in a minute as I need to see him. Oh, that will be fun
Right - back to work, have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Hello Everyone! :hello:
Well, I'm back (obviously!). Thanks for asking about me yesterday Redruby - I got back from camping monday PM was was too hot & tired to do much, then had whilrwind at work yesterday and Weds, and I don't work Thurs so caught up with shopping & some washing.
Sadly we only got the thunder & lightning yesterday - I was looking forward to the rai nto cool the air and water the garden (and bring the pollen-count down!) but it missed us, although other places in the area got a huge downpour. Still suffering badly with hayfever and wheezy chest, and so limited in what I can take for them at the moment.
Lamewolf - if you havea Sainsbury's nearby they sell 'green caddies' for putting your composting in for the kitchen. I got one last year, think it was £2.99. I ghuess it's about 10x4 ins, maybe 8ins high. Green plastic with a hinged lid and a handle. The local council give us a brown one the same size to keep in our kitchens to collect food waste (which goes into a brown bin outside for collection every week), so I have both on my kitchen side, and a small plastic box on the floor next to the bin, for tins/glass, and a carrier hung on 2 nails for the paper. I call it 'recycling corner'!
Now to the important bit - I HAVE NEWS!:j
We are trying not to get too excited, given what has happened before, but I got a positive result on the 2 tests I have done, so I am officially PREGNANT! :j Still can't really believe it, and won't until we get our early scan done. There's a higher than normal chance of another ectopic because I have had one already, and being a bit overweight (and - ahem - an 'older' first-timer) makes me more susceptable to another miscarriage, but we are trying to be 'cautiously optimistic'!
Our scan is booked for 16th July, when I should be 6wks+3days, which is the earliest poss. that they can do it and expect to see something. So just got to keep calm and everything crossed until then!
Due to this, OS and basically anything at all energetic is pretty much on hold at the mo! Work, shopping, washing and a bit of cooking are all that is being done (and DH is even doing cooking, bless him!, even if it is only easy stuff). Actually I don't have much of an appetite, which is amazing for me!
Not had time to do much more than scan yesterday's thread, so (((HUGS))) to all in need/want of one, and have a good weekend everyone!
Much love,

Afternoon all
Not on that often but always read the thread. Not alot going on here. Don't work Fridays so its housework day :j  Am just having half an hour on here with some lunch and then it's the iron mountain to conquer while watching Wimbledon. Hoping to get it out of the way to sit down and enjoy Andy Murray's match as it's the second one on Centre Court. Hope he wins but it won't be an easy match I am sure.
:j Congratulations to FairyElephant, fingers, eyes, legs and everything else crossed for you this time around :j
Still warm here in Kent but alot more comfortable, keeps clouding over but then the sun peeps through for a while. One lot of washing nearly dried and another pile waiting to take its place. Sausages, jacket potatoes for dinner.
Have a good day all xxxx0
