its a bit chilly here at the moment, only got to about 48F yesterday and low of 31F, around 10 degrees lower than average. Rain/snow possibility during the week
Thats why we won't be going back again in the winter, it's always been cold. Give me mid July and 110 degrees anyday.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
  • Anyone have anything good or bad to say about Imperial Palace.

I'm looking for somewhere cheap to stay in February for 4 nights.

If you want cheap, in a central location and don't expect any frills then the IP is fine.

There are far better hotels in Vegas, but you will pay more for them.

Make sure you go for a deluxe rooms as these have been refurbished.

You can read my reviews of the IP HERE

Bah it snowed LAST year when I was there and the locals told me it happens once every five years. Typical LOL
Oh well I shall expect snow on Tuesday in that case :)
I don't expect to pack my thermals for Vegas !!! :rotfl:

I am going on my honeymoon next July to Vegas. We are booked in to the Wynn - Encore. Does anyone have any experiences with this hotel?

Also, I am considering upgrading our flights and room - would it be worth doing? It will cost £750 each to upgrade the outbound leg of our flight to Virgins Upper Class. Has anyone been on this? Worth the extra?
Is it worth waiting until I arrive to upgrade our room?

    Thanks in advance

Depends what you expect for that fairly hefty amount of money
If you're on the Virgin to LA it might be-on the older LAS direct flight-maybe not. Basically what is worth £75 an hour each to you-if it's a comfier seat and slightly better food then go for it (Personally I'd rather spend that money in Vegas though)

Google for $20 trick for one way to upgrade your hotel

I spose its OK

Seriously, best hotel in Vegas. Enjoy.

Upper Class is very nice, but for me only affordable with 100K miles....I wouldnt voluntarily pay that much to upgrade.

But for a couple of hundred quid each way, consider a Premium upgrade.....either before or on the day.

I also would not consider £750 each to upgrade to Upper...if you're flying direct, chances are you'll have the older plane as duchy said and then even Premium Economy isn't really worth the extra cost (but on the newer planes, PE would be worth considering).

Are you booked with Wynn or Encore - they are separate hotels but part of the same complex. We loved both, but Encore is definately nicer in terms of the room...I would personally see no real benefit in upgrading even from their standard room, it was fantastic. I'm sure an upgrade would be a higher level of fantastic, but not sure if the cost would be worth it?

There are photos of our room at Encore on page 3 here:

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
