Mmmm - theyve never seen that one before have they duchy :) Chance of success IMHO 33%

duchys way will work IMHO 100% so long as you forget about keeping you in the one room. Check out, dump your stuff with the concierge for a few hours, go play poker or see a show or go shopping, and then check back in.

We have used duchy's method lots of times, and so long as we only ask the day of the change, we haven't had a problem at all. Did it twice last month in fact.

Of course, but the check in staff aren't really bothered about it from my experience.

I'll let you know if we get refused. We've done it at several HET places, MGM Grand and Excalibur, Gold Coast and Orleans and finally at South Point.

We had 2 separate bookings at Bally's. I had originally booked in OH's name for 5 nights in the South Tower then David McG posted a deal for 2 nights for $79 in teh North Tower. I booked that in my name and called to change OH's booking to 3 nights.

At check in I told the clerk that we had 2 bookings and asked if we could link them and stay in the same room for the duration. I was hoping for the North Tower, but would have settled for the South Tower if we didn't have to move.

She said she could see both bookings then offered us an upgrade to a Junior Suite for an extra $25 a night which we accepted.

It wouldn't have been a problem to stay in the same room even though they were 2 separate bookings.

Thanks. I've just booked 3 nights at The Luxor on the Ultimate Luxury deal. There is another deal floating around that is much cheaper for the previous 3 days that I might need. Hoping to be somewhere else though!

Another question - the confirmation email didn't mention anything about the deal (food credit, 2 for 1 spa and 2 for 1 lunch). Should I get them to confirm the deal?

we always make 2 bookings as it works out cheaper for us at HET to book part on my account and part on my husband's - with HET properties you can email them beforehand and link them. The only thing to remember is if you're going to use TR credits to pay for part of the room or anything charged to it (like internet access, etc) to do it before the end of the first booking as they will actually check you out of the room and back into the room on the designated day - so the first account will be settled at that point and so only the 2nd booking will be open when you check out.

But if using an offer with extras included, I'm not sure if asking to link them beforehand might result in loss of the extras for the 2nd booking or not as we've not tried that.

All together with flights our budget is about £1300. Want a hotel that we dont have to walk to far for everything. Went to florida a few years ago and though we stayed on international drive, the hotel was a long walk from anywhere and just dont want the same again. Hubby wants to play poker some nights so dont want him walking home too far on his own.

So long as you stay on the strip and perhaps avoid places toward the far north end of the strip (for me, anything north of Wynn), your hotel will always be as close to where you are as you want it to be, really...you can stay at your home casino or one nearby, or go as far away as you want. If you're on the strip, there's really no issue with safety walking home late at night unless perhaps you're far north again. It's very well lit, very well travelled, very easy (even after a few drinks!) and very safe...you won't have any issues with dark, deserted walks.

Not sure how much your flights will cost so how much you'll have left for the hotel element, but lots of suggestions have been made for perfectly nice mid-range properties that will likely fit your budget. But as others have said it's too early for the best deals to be out. Maybe price up flights and start looking at hotels through smartervegas.com - Harrah's hot deals, etc...that will at least give you a worst case scenario in terms of price.

It should be fine - most times it doesn't state the extras on the reservation - sometimes it gives the name of the 'package' and sometimes not. You could call and ask them to check - or you could print out the details of the deal from their website and have it with you.
