Yowza! Congrats on getting a ticket for yourself...I'm really curious to read reviews of the first shows in December. I'm a bit disappointed that it's just him and a guitar and not a band. I'm sure it will still be great - he's a great performer, but somehow seems like there would be a lot less energy without the band.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

October , NovemberHey wise forum folk,
We are off to Veghas in 3 weeks and will be there for 8 dayshowever, my mother - who's 60th birthday is the reason we are going there - suddenly wants to take some time out and travel over to San Fran for two days.
Has anyone done this or would you guys recommend it?0 -
December ( including Xmas and New Year )We did it last year. If youre only there for 8 days, fly rather than drive, as its a "one day" drive each way. Alcatraz half day tour, see some of the Napa wineries, city tour by bus, stay down Fishermans Wharf and wander down at night.
Dont bank on great photos of the bridge......this time of year likely to by very misty/foggy unless its a sunny day.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Yeah, we have seen flights for about $100 and we'd probably stay over night, so early flight over there and late flight the next day.
It seems like a good plan, thanks :T0 -

If you know you want to Alcatraz book it in advance , as they only have a limited number of trips per day and they often sell out . only one company operates the tour . well worth going .

a bus tour around the city is also great . if you don't have a car to park then you can stay in Fisherman's wharf for a reasonable price .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
October , November$15 per day, but if you only want to keep some drinks cold do as we do, fill the paperbins with ice and stack the Buds in there!! You will find ice machines on every floor
we normally bring a cool bag and fill it with ice and that plus the ice bucket in the room is usually enough for us. Last trip we forgot the cool bag and got a washing up tub sort of thing at WalMart for $2 and that served our purposes well (though that thing got really heavy when full of ice!). I used to do the ice in the bins thing, but having been witness to what people sometimes use the bins for, and wondering how often they are washed, I can't bring myself to do it anymore, even with a clean bag in them.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
