You are a star many thanks. :T
I particularly value the idea of booking something now and reviewing deals until we depart. I've been spending so much time looking for deals, it is good to know that I have been looking too early.
As you suggest I will book a twin room at MGM today and will update you as I come across ideas/deals.

Also the listing by Frogitt was very helpful too.

    Thanks again

I think the MGM is a great choice -although quite honestly mid strip you can't go wrong for a first visit. Bill's might be a slightly less mainstream choice. Fantastic location-lower table limits than the glitzier hotels and really nice rooms. If table games rather than slots are your thing then maybe throw in a couple of nights downtown at the Golden Nugget -wouldn't do more than that though.

Unfortunately I can't seem to access this deal. It seems to have expired? Only 'maximum escape' is available for the dates I want. Or am I missing something?
    Thanks..

Bellagio , Wynn and Paris , are more for couples IMO , of course others will totally disgree .

MGM Grand is certainly not a bad choice and will tick all your boxes me thinks . Caesars would also be a excellent choice provided you don't have a classic room . i like the Mirage , and although the rooms are perfectly comfortable , they are a tad dated now although there was talk of them being updated .

also don't discount Planet Hollywood , NYNY , Venetian or Mandalay Bay ( providing you are okay with it's location , which i did not find to be issue ) .

avoid the hotels i warn about in post 1

i totally agree with Luci about booking a fallback now , with the view to cancelling later when the deals start coming out. a once or twice a week check on Fatwallet should suffice until around 3-4 months out . then i would try to check as often as possible on the sites listed in post 1 . the more you research the deals the more you will be able to spot the really good deals when they appear .
I am looking for a little luxury on the strip, with lower level gambling, shows, fun and helicopter rides.

there is of course nothing to stop you staying at Caesars and getting a luxury place to stay , then popping over the road to O'sheas for some low limit gambling .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

It has paid off more me several times booking the hotel as soon as the flights were booked as 4 or 5 times there was a big fight announced for our dates and the rates rocketed.

Re Page 1 of Fat Wallet, it is no longer regularly updated and hasn't been since 13 January. You need to check the last few pages of posts to see the latest offers that have been posted. That's why I linked to the last post and not the first page.

OK - and thanks to Ferf - heres a list of things that Im going to use as my ramblings while I convince Mrs Frog that theres stuff for us to do as a family.

    GameWorks - http://www.gameworks.com/ Tix4Tonight $35 all-day pass for $17.50, coupon allegedly in the ACG

Sorry, the coupon for $2 off the fee is here, not in the ACG:

    http://www.lasvegas-nv.com/tix-4-tonight-coupon.htm

As far as I know, the $17.50 is always on at tix4tonight
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
