    Day 13

Our last full day in Vegas.

We ate brunch at the Spice Buffet again, we preferred their breakfast but still enjoyed it. There were some girls handing flyers our for money off so we saved $5 each I think. :j

We already had our tickets for today's show, the only one we booked before we left, Beatles Love by Cirque and had already exchanged themso didn't need to worry about sorting those out.

We went back up to the Fashion Show Mall as we hadn't actually looked around the shops the day before. There was a fashion show when we arrived so we watched that for a bit and then I bought some new clothes at a fraction of the price I would have paid here.

We had left eating at the Mirage buffet until this evening as we knew we wouldn't have to rush for the show then. We really enjoyed it, they seemes to have more variety than some of the others which was refreshing.

We had 2 for 1 cocktail vouchers for Revolution but ran out of time for that so just looked around the Love shop and then went into the auditorium. We had deliberately paid for the most expensive seats and got them in a good place as it was our last night. The show was amazing. I am a huge Beatles fan anyway, I wasn't sure how they would approach it and was worried that they might ruin it for me but I think the show is pitched in a great way. My OH wasn't too bothered about going, he doesn't share my passion, he was going to put up with it for me but he was very surprised at how much he enjoyed it. It was like being in a big top watching the circus and was very clever.

My husband was looking at youtube videos of slot wins and found this one.

I wonder how bonkers (or how rich) you have to be to do what this person did at the end of the bonus round. :)

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

would be great if it was a real win not an emulator...I can never win anything...lol

I dont gamble much, but got hooked on the Goldfish machine a couple of months back, not noticed it before, but was reading that some people on here use it.

Thanks for the link to Google maps ferf. I've now sussed where the stops are so a bit more comfortable.

I tried to work out the route going by public transport on it, but the stupid thing had me taking the monorail to the Sahara and getting the bus from there whereas I want to take the bus the whole way.

Re the You Tube link. Isn't that on someone's computer rather than in a casino?

make sure you have done your ESTA

    new on Virgins website
An ESTA check has now been added to our check-in systems on US routes starting with the VS43 Gatwick to Las Vegas service on 12 August. This means that all visa waiver nationals (unless they have a visa or residency card) will only be able to travel if they have a confirmed travel authority via the ESTA website. The system will be activated on all other US routes over the next few weeks.

I need to revise mine... again.

I created it for our May trip, revised it for our September trip and then our flights were changed about 6 weeks ago so I will have to remember to revise it again.

I know the flight details are optional, but I'd rather do it right.

I didn't think it was an emulator...the messages at the bottom are similar to those that you see when you have a hand pay and the machine is reset by the tech that does the hand pay - they can replay the last XX number of spins, just assumed that's what it was. Looking at the comments though I see that it is...now I feel kinda silly. :o

Thanks for the advice re: traffic and transport. We've decided to go with hiring a car and drive to Death Valley and the other attractions off strip. On strip, I'll see what traffics like, but will probably drive use the monorail at the weekends maybe.

I'm now in the process of writing a military grade itinerary for the 8 nights. I like to plan it down to hourly slots and budget for food, trips, and spending each day. :) Things planned so far:
Pink Jeep tour of the grand canyon, I know we're renting a car but this is the one thing I want a guide tour on.
Death Valley day trip with a few small stops on the way.
    Bootleg Canyon flightlines.
Horseback riding through red rock canyons
Nascar Richard Petty ride along experience.
Dune buggying at Nellis dunes on our wedding day after the wedding.
Along with the usual attractions at the hotels down the strip.

Getting exciting now, less then 3 months to go!

I don't think you should plan that precisely as most of it will go out the window once you get there, eg the time it takes to get from one hotel to another for a start.

I do make up a planner with sections for morning, afternoon, evening and night. It's usually about 2/3rds completed. Some things are cast in stone such as shows and meals that are already booked, but the rest is all tentative.

We are totally flexible with it, but it means we don't forget about something we intended doing.

I enjoy Vegas more with a planner as, the first time we went for more than a week, my mind went blank and I couldn't think of things to do for the last couple of days. I find with planning it that I am usually struggling to fit in everything we want to do or places we want to eat.

I appreciate the input - but we do see quite a lot of the city in our wanderings by car - we venture quite a ways off the strip in various directions. I have little doubt that we're able to see and do more with a car than we would taking the bus. I have no doubt that I'd have an anectdote in the end after taking the bus but at this point I have no intention of trying it. :)

    .

I have travelled on the Deuce once in 1993 late at night from Excalibur back to Sahara with my sister there was a girl gang on board they were very friendly once they heard that we were european.

I would not stay in Vegas without a car I have had times when it sits in a car park for three days but the freedom it gives is worth the money and some
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time
