Yeah - no sign of the restore disk/image.
However there must be a hidden partition as the hdd size is only showing as approx 36gb. Think the files are probably in there?
Thanks for pointing out what the sonic files are - didn't realise they were burning software! Will do as you and install nero instead.0 -
Yeah there is no CD burning option on my 1300, although the bloody Sonic Activation thing does keep asking for a disk on startup (End Tasking it for now makes it go away, until i can be bothered turning off the two programs responsible for it.0

I believe the 4GB is used for the Symantec Restore thing, that you can get at startup by pressing ctrl and F11, for reverting to factory install.0 -
Go the the support site - troubleshooting for a fix for that message.0

Mine's not working
Only because it's still in it's box on the dining room table
Been up at Big Momma Shaboo's trying to set her's up to connect to her Wanadoo Livebox but it's having none of it.
Don't suppose anyone's done it already and has any tips?
Been a long hard week at work so mine's staying in the box until tomorrow at least.

All the restore files should be in the Dell directory on C: drive.

I'm not sure if the sonic software will burn images or not as I uninstalled it pretty much straight away and installed Nero, but if you do a Google search there are plenty of free utilities that will let you burn/ extract an iso image
HTH
I dont have the PC yet but the order confirmation says it has "roxio Mydvd basic" included which is cd/dvd burning software. This is on a machine with the DVD writer option.
Also, I paid the extra £5 option to get the genuine windows XP CD included.0
