Wireless is internal, miniPCI card which is fitted to the system.
Works well too *whistles at the people in his street with unsecured routers*0 -

The screen is very good IMO, a little dim on battery but useable (you can put it to highest setting when on battery but life will be reduced).
Good build quality, much better than the cheap Acers I was looking at, only problem I have with it is all the software that Dell put on it.
Now did you know ...... that there apparently a way to take all the rubbish off a Dell computer when it arrives (I haven't tried it myself however):

Of course you can always re-install XP if you have the backup disc. That will work too but could remove some of the installed drivers so be careful. :eek:0 -

Good luck with the installation fatboy but be very careful to follow the instructions from Dell exactly to the letter.
I am speaking from painful experience here. I bought an Inspiron 6000 about a year ago. It only had (still has) 250 meg of ram. So I bought another 250 from Crucial (good company). By the way, I have installed ram on a PC many times before but not on a laptop.
So when said extra memory arrived I switched off the laptop, unscrewed the memory cover, added the new chip, and ..... bingo .....NOTHING !!!
I blew the motherboard. Crucial didn't want to know but refunded the cost of the chip, Dell didn't want to know because they hadn't supplied the chip
- all in all a nightmare with a new laptop that was completely dead.
Luckily, after speaking to most of the people in India via a call centre, I got hold of a nice Irish lady from Dell who arranged to replace the laptop under warranty _ PHEW !
So just be careful and follow the instructions and all should be ok. :T0 -
mine arrived half hour ago!!!! (original delivery date was 24/4) only ordered it monday - havent opened it yet as its for DS, let him do it later and got to get router now. :j
Saw the Big UPS lorry backing in and opened the door!!! it has beaten the virgin wine getting to me!!!
thanks to the OP!0 -

Sounds familiar - that's exactly what happened to me."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."
