Gillingham FC have a home fixture on August 8th against the mighty Swindon Town! Even Sky Sports have advertised this match as being 'missable'.

Uniteds tickets have never been sold on a first come first served basis since they did away with the terracing and pay on the door in 1993.

Tickets are sold in this order...Season Ticket Holders (cup games)....One United Members......Public/General Sale.

As United have 60000 season ticket holders, and 75000 seats, that only leaves 15000 seats available for sale to those other than season ticket holders, and there are far more than 15000 One United members, almost all United games go to a ballot.

Your best option is the Carling Cup games, these are not compulsary for season ticket holders and are never sold out (unless we reach the semi-final). However, your unlikely to see the best 11 play in those games.

Unfortunately you have picked the wrong game to go and see, United vs Arsenal will certainly go to a ballot. In the case of any top 4 game at Old Trafford, check out Viagogo, never used them myself as I've got a ST, but apparently they are Uniteds official ticket touts (a company season ticket holders can sell their match tickets to if they cannot attend the game, assuming it is a sell out) Unfortunately your not guaranteed a block of seats together through viagogo.

I would think that there would have been small print with regards to the application of tickets and purchasing of a One United membership, stating that it does not guarantee a ticket. If not then that is Uniteds fault, but in no way do I feel the ticket prices are "too high", not with the quality of players/football you get to see. But then football is my life.

I could go and watch a team in the 3rd division (League 2) and I'd have to pay £17.50 to get in, and watch the dire football they play, or pay an extra £8 and watch United.

You'd sit in the Directors box if you paid £17.50 to get into a 3rd division match surely? And I'm surprised that a United ticket only costs £25.50, I thought they'd be nearer £40/£50 a go with the demand (shows the last time I paid to go to a footie match)!!!

Glory seekers? Who the hell do you think you are!

If you read the first post, I state that I have supported for a very long time, but have never had the opportunity to go and see them for real.

Posts like yours are best kept to yourself if you haven't got anything constructive to say

you'd think so wouldn't you, at Oldham Athletic it's £18 if you buy before the day of the game, and £20 if you buy on matchday.

Rochdale charge between £15 and £19 for adults and £5 to £10 for juniors for 4th Division.

Tickets for my seat were £26 a game last season (West Stand Lower (Stretford End)) and £30 for the Champions league, this year they are £27 and £32 I think. Not bad considering what you pay at other premier league grounds

I remember comming back from OT last season after a game, and on the radio talkshow (606 I think) they were discussing a game in the Conference, or possible an even lower league, and the question was asked about ticket prices and why the caller watched lower league. I nearly crashed my car when he said that the prices for the game he went to were £16...FOR NON LEAGUE FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP, if you can get to the game against Valencia it's £15-£25, non member adults, £5 juniors and members get £5 off adult prices. 5 August 8pm kick off, don't use the online thing as it is crap, it keeps telling me that my season ticket number does not exist. Call the club, it's not an 0845 number just normal landline number and book the tickets that way.

I'd quite like to visit Old Trafford to actually see the stadium- same with the Emirates. For what you see in the Premiership- some games are actually good value, but sadly it is so commercial now football, but that is the way it is.

I actually go week in week out to my team in the SPL, and ticket prices are similarly insane- £18 usually- Ibrox and Parkhead being the expensive ones at £23+. Despite this teams are still skint- lowering prices doesn't bring in the crowds to break even either. People are happier sitting at home watching it on TV nowadays. Luckily my season card is a discount as I am still a student just- and I get in for under £7 a game. Non discounted tickets are about £15.

I cancelled my season ticket at United two seasons ago and dont miss it at all. The thousands i save every year now pays for me to go to the pub and watch every match, few beers, meal and have a better time than sitting in the ground surronded by corporate nomarks who couldnt care less.

To be fair, I am not concerned about the pricing of the tickets. They quote between £40-£50 for the stand we wanted to sit, but that was membership price - not sure how much higher it is for general sale

Seeing as we never go and this would be a one off, we would be happy to pay the ticket price. However, we definitely would not pay it on a regular basis

    I've been Money Tipped!
Manure fans who live in the south of the UK are pathetic and deserve to be totally and utterly ripped off, (IMO). My brother in law lives in Watford, supports manure from an armchair and the only time he ever gets to see them is if I arrange a ticket when they happen to play at my local club, which isn't often. After our recent foray into the Premierbore I hope we NEVER get there again, as all the clubs up there want money money money whilst the fans are getting pushed further and further down the list of priorities.

You think the housing market is bad? Wait until it catches up with the Prem, and it will, suddenly the fan will be number one again.

Like the above poster said, support your local club, oh no, they're not on the telly enough are they?
