Am so pleased for you..you must be so relieved
  • Hi I have been reading what you have been going through with a lump in my throat and so frustrated as I couldn't think of a way to help you...but I am overjoyed for you that you have this outcome..the officials who visited you thank goodness were professional and knew how to do their job BUT it is not them that have made this outcome possible it is YOU...YOU are amazing fighting this with dignity and drive as you could have quite easily given in with everything else you deal with this could have driven you over the edge...well done and I hope you and your daughter can finally put this behind you. If you can deal with and sort this out then you can do anything!

Looking forward to hearing what the MP had to say.

Hope you have a good evening xx

Absolutely feeling on top of the world today! .

    You are amazing!!
So happy for you that things have been rectified!! I was going to say that they shouldn't have put you through this in the first place, but it looks like some good has come out of it and it's brilliant that DD has been offered art classes.
What an inspiration you both are!
Take care of yourself particularly as there seems to be a bit of cold weather ahead...
    xx
    Overpay!
  • Hi Positive and Focus, I have just finished reading your diary . I admire you, you are a great inspiration for me. Thank you.
    Don't forget smiling :):):)
  • Wow, thank you so v much for all your positive comments.

Well, the good news just keeps coming at the mo. Dd and I went to see our MP yesterday. Dd was happy doing her drawing while I went into his office. He was v happy things had been resolved, acknowledged that had the Head been more helpful in the first place it was likely none of it would have happened. But then he said to me, "Do call me Stephen Lou!!"I want to talk to you about something else. So, I sat there thinking what on earth could it be. He then said to me, We think you are absolutely wonderful to still be working with your challenges and all that has gome on before, to be bringing up your daughter as well as you are, to be fighting on, I want to help you. Do you have any of your business cards on you? No I replied, they are in the car. Well not to worry, we would like you to bring in a catalogue, some business cards, some more info about you. I want to place an order with you and nearer to Christmas publicise your story in the local press and advertise your business in the process, and I would like you to work with me over the next few years as a "role model", (his words!). I meet so many people in the course of my work who are disabled and on Incapacity because they have lost their confidence to work. I would like to reach out to them using your story and with your help. Well, right then I was filling up I can tell you. He gave me his hanky - it was clean! It was such a lot to take in, so unexpected. He wanted me, thats right me, to help him. Im just me, but he wanted me. Well, Ive jumped at the chance. Who wouldn't. Not least my Kl team, The Shining Stars may just have to be called The Extra Shining Stars! because we could have others who didn't know about the business who may have disabilities -or not - but want to join despite whatever challenges they have after hearing my story. And even if that doesn't happen, how fantastic to be giving to the community in a real way, speaking from the heart and experience and helping others. Im not sure how it will pan out but he is adamant he wants it to happen saying we will be seeing a lot more of each other in the course of working on this "campaign" for want of a better description. So, time will tell... I am just wowed over.

The funny thing is in recent months, I have dreamt of finding a way in which I could highlight the plight of disabled people in terms of hearing their voice. The recent saga with the school is one eg where had they bothered to hear my voice and speak to me, it would not have escalated as it did. Kl are v pro having disabled people on board, in deed people from all walks of life but go to a training and you very rarely ever hear training from a disabled person and I have found that v frustrating. We do have a voice and Ive wondered how I can do my bit in encouraging it to be heard. And then this comes my way. It could help business wise, but even if it doesn't I know it will be absolutely fantastic. Will wait and see how it all takes off. Off to get dressed, have a cuppa and mow my little patch of grass aka my front garden! Dd is happily watching a dvd and just relaxing bless her! She wants to weed the front garden later which is fine by me....

That is amazing that you'll be doing that as like the MP said you'll be showing other disabled people that they can work and regain some confidence.Sounds like a win win situation for both of you.

But in all seriousness WELL DONE! :D:D This is great news: now you get to have your business and also help inspire others. :T
