  • Have a great day too PAF.

It's all going in the right direction x.

    Well done, PaF! :T

Sometimes it really does just go to show what can be done if you have the right mental attitude.

And as for the 1500m, I couldn't run that now (or then) if you paid me! :rotfl:

  • Well, positive vibes all around. Another week passes with the bills all paid on time and with min hassle!

Great news so far. I am half way through this last Xmas sales period in Kl, and my sales exceed £2600 for 2 weeks. Not bad eh! Just about to put out some more books to collect Mon.
Also have someone definately joining my team in Jan so great news there too.
Recd another Xmas tip from a customer yesterday of £3 so thats gone in my sealed pot. And lots of cards from customers. ( Ive been giving out cards to all my customers, so far thats been 600 approx! Ive been preparing 200 each week with the help of dd).
This weekend is ebay weekend, loads to put on so v excited about that, doing Xmas cards for posting, helping dd to her cards to her friends, doing pressies for school teachers and after school club helpers. The former are each getting a mug with home made Xmas cookies. Price of mug £1.75 so done v cheaply!. The latter are going to get some homemade chocolate truffles.
Collected my Mackenzie Thorpe pictures yesterday that didn't sell at auction. There was apparently alot of interest in them but not at the price asked for. However, there had been a specialist Mackenzie Thorpe sale just the week before at another auction up North and they think that was why my pictures didn't get the interest required to push the price up. So, they have suggested I take them back to them end of Feb, early March when they are certain they could achieve some good sale prices, so I am comfortable with that, and will do that rather than try and sell them on ebay.
Most importantly of all, am attending my dds nativity play this afternoon either side of working, and this eve, I am going out with friends for a Xmas meal. Am driving 4 of them as I dont drink, Im quite happy with a cup of tea!!

  • Had the most lovely meal on friday, however I was just so tired by the end of it, could hardly keep my eyes open. We were all sitting by the log fire in the pub which was lovely but didn't help matters. Anyway, managed to wake up after a cup of tea and drive us all home safely!

Have had a v productive weekend. Most pleased with the pressies for After school club, dd's teacher and 2 teachers assts, the lollipop lady and another lady from a local charity who Im seeing tom and who has been v supportive since Ive known her. Didn't make choc truffles in the end. Didnt have to, made orange creams and enough for an army. Basically I read the recipe wrong and so had to add more icing sugar to get the right consistency to make them. When they had set, I drizzled them with melted chocolate and if I say so myself they are delicious. We lined the mugs or containers with tissue paper. filled them up with the sweets, wrapped it all in cellophane, and tied the top with nice ribbon, well my dd did that bit because that is something I am unable to do - bows and such like - and then stuck a bow on top with gift tag. They looked fantastic. Am so pleased. The best pressies Ive ever put together and the cheapest ever and the most fun with dd helping too! Took in the school ones today and reception were suitably impressed. It is such a lovely feeling to give and this year it is most definately from the heart more than the purse!.

Other Xmas mse news is that I made a huge shepherds pie! We ate some on sat, then Ive put two portions in the freezer towards my Aunts xmas hamper. She is very ill at the mo, and my thinking is that she can just heat them up and have a supper with min of effort. We also have a fourth portion for us in the freezer too. Roasted a chicken, ate some yesterday and carved the rest up into 4 more portions for the freezer. Other foods going into my aunts hamper are sausage rolls - again easily freezable -, scones which Ive done for her before and which she really likes for breakfast!, chocolate truffles, and some choc chip cookies. That will all go over to her on thursday with my parents who are visiting her. We will see her between Xmas and New year and then I will take over some homemade mince pies. Yes, Im really excited about all of that!

Aso did my xmas cards, some wrapping up, helped dd do her xmas cards, the washing and ironing, a bit of housework, photographed everything for ebay. That took me an hour to do, I have such a lot, and Im slow as I want to do it right.

Really glad Joe won x factor! Off to do Kl now. Have lost count at the mo with orders. Picked up another one for £49 on fri. Think Ive exceeded £3K and am shortly going out to pick up further books with lots more orders so by the end of today it could exceed £3.5k, that would be fantastic!! I now know that I was the third top retailer in the group Im part of this year, better than I thought I would be actually. Just 2k behind the winners who were second behind me last year! Just maybe I could achieve that cup again next year, and grow my team in a big way at the same time. Now that would be really something. That is my ultimate goal in Kl, to excel at the retailing, become a really good recruiter, and team support, and be a role model for disabled people in particular, but to ultimately demonstrate that nothing is impossible, it may take longer and more effort, but it can be done. And that is the attitude I am determined to maintain re my debt!

Anyway, thats me done, on that note need to get on with the day and build my business!

  • Received another £2 xmas bonus from a customer last night and that has gone into my sealed post. Must have getting on for £25 so far! Orders yesterday just over £400 picked up, with more to go back for tom. Must be somewhere between £3 and 3.5k so far. Just two more catalogue drops before Xmas to ensure pre xmas delivery. Dont know how Kl do it, but next week as long as I place my last order by 9pm next mon, I receive the good next weds to deliver that eve/afternoon. Virtually 24 hours! They del Xmas eve too, but I want to keep that free, just leave it for any orders I have outstanding where I haven't yet del to the customer cos they've been out etc.

So, been planning for next weeks cooking re hampers. Am thinking I could make the mince pies on Mon or tues. Anyone have any opinions given I am giving them to friends and family on Xmas eve/xmas day? Do you think they will taste just as fresh if theyve been in the fridge for a couple of days?

    Hi PaF!

Wow, you have been busy - well done! :T

I think you could probably leave the mince pies at least one day. I tried making some myself yesterday and it went horribly wrong! I was thinking of trying making some more again today and see what happend, but I have run out of mincemeat!

Speaking of which, you know that recipie for mincemeat that you gave me? How long do you have to let that sit before you can use it?

Thanks for the cooking advice and keep going, PaF: you're doing brilliantly! :D

  • In a Pickle, will leave a message on your diary in a mo, but the recipe details state 2 weeks if you can, but I guess any length of time is better than nothing!. Im going to make my mince pies on Xmas eve a.m. Two of my hampers Im giving out Xmas eve eve so Id rather be safe than sorry.

Been planning my business plan for 2010 and am really excited about it, still need to get a final plan down on paper but am currently working out how I can fit in what I want to do. I can visualise it, just need to plan it. Thinking of doing a two week plan so that every two weeks I get to the gym three times and each of those two weeks is slightly different with what I do on the set days. I am so looking forward to next year. Have downloaded my photos for ebay and local advertising and I have so so much to sell. Im excited about that too. Recd notification that some of my silverware sold for £85 at auction last week too. On that note, better get on, its cold here but ive filled the kitchen sink with hot water for washing up from last eve and it seems to be warming up that room anyway so no heating on as of yet today but then I have a nice hot cuppa here and bed socks........! Am becoming a true MSE!!!

  • On the money front, received a chq out of the blue from Halifax for £57 relating to a miscalculation on my Home contents insurance!

It's snowing! Heavily! Dd still asleep but she will be so excited v soon. Doubt the school will open today. It's the last day of term. Will check their website in a mo but even if it is open am thinking I wont take her in. From my perspective, me and snow do not go well. Def need my walking stick and I am in need of some new boots with a grippy sole and Ive been putting off buying any this winter due to finances! I can get some proper ones with my Halifax chq when it clears, an Xmas pressie to myself!

Anyway, was planning to put my last section of catalogues out today for collection on Mon, with a view to delivering the products next Weds. Also have a £500 delivery pending today if I get it. Will review the situation in a while, have lots I can get on with at home, running out of milk and have a doctors appt this afternoon so will need to just brave the weather at some point and be confident that all will be well and tell myself that falling over is not an option!. Also, a load of money to bank from deliveries I - we as dd was with me in the freezing cold - did last eve. Dd was so good, she was in charge of the torch and she fell asleep in the back of the car after a while which was a godsend as I could get them done quicker and then get us home quicker. Plans to keep the electricity bill at a min went out of the window. We got home, heating went on full blast, had a lovely ultra warm bath while the supper was on, and duly fell asleep in the armchair until about 1 this am!!

All we can do is go with the flow and get the camera out to take great snowy pictures of dd enjoying herself! Picked up about £300 yesterday in orders. If I dont get the books out today, Ive done v well in three weeks. My sales must be over £3500 by now so am pleased.
