  • Km, thanks for yor suggestion. I don't feel brave enough to at the moment, the thought of applying for a 0% and then possibly being turned down is just too much stress. I do have that thought in the background though!
Hi Fern 44, thanks for popping in. I decided to total everything I owe because for me its imperatif I'm clear of everything by the time my dd is 18 at the latest based on my circumstances as they stand now and I want to keep track of everything on a monthly basis. Some of my additional incomings stop when dd is 18. I receive a widows pension as dh was murdered which totals around £200 a month after tax and this stops once dd is 18. Also, I don't want dd to worry about me healthwise or financially if say at 18 she wants to travel for a year or go away to university not knowing what my mobility will be like by then. By then, the plan is to be mortgage and debt free and have some savings and an income that will cover all outgoings and a little bit more! So, for me including it all is part of this life changing process of dealing with everything I owe, good and bad debt!
So, further developments. Things going just about according to plan. Purchased a mattress on Saturday. Retailed at £600, half price in the sale and then a further 10% off making it £269.99 so £30 under budget. Another goal ticked off the list for this year! I needed a sweet cup of tea afterwards to recover aftermaking such a big purchase. Then yesterday I purchased a TV for £234.99. The idea being I will return my existing tv which I rent at the moment and which will then save me £22.99 in my outgoings each month. So, I'm getting organised.
Half term this week so a bit of a hectic week ensues but the snow is melting! Hoorah! and theres all to play and work for!

you've done brilliantly with the bargains, hope you have a gd half term.

Massive thank you, we had a visit today from the lady at Red Cross and theyve accepted DD as a young carer, theyve got a big trip out at Easter, shes so looking forward to that. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • well done mum to one. Your dd and your life will feel much different now that you might not feel so alone in dealing with your day to day challenges! My dd went to Bowling and Laser Quest with Care for Carers this bank holiday. She had a terrific time and she's meeting other children in her situation. I think its that that is so important. I'm eternally grateful to them and I just pray they will be able to keep getting the funding to continue.
So, we've survived half term! I didn't reach my higher bonus target but the good thing is the amount by which I was short was the work I was unable to do in the week of snow so I know that this next 4 weeks it is very possible I will achieve the higher bonus target and that is my intention. Our new tv is installed thanks to my dear friend and her husband. My new mattress arrives at the end of this week and thanks to the same friend and husband will be on my bed next weekend! I have purchased a wedding outfit for my dd this last week as my brothers wedding is at the end of March and I have seen the outfit I would like for myself. A dress I can dress up or down in the future so I will get a lot of wear out of it. Hope to get it sorted this week. Money is still under control. Have paid the helpscheme for disabled people to get on to digital tv. They are coming out next month to sort out my aerial. Fantastic service , so grateful to them. Have a couple of other things I would like to do like get my downstairs carpets cleaned but will see how it goes. At least will get a quote! Plan to update my signature when all the payments have shown up on my accounts and my new total will reflect everything to date. Apparently it wont be long before I hear from the Halifax regarding the last paypout they need to make concerning my mortgage PPI. In the next month assuming Ive been told correctly! Its lovely paying less onmy loans and not having to pay home insurance twice and seeing direct debits reduce or get cancelled completely!! So if I can do yet more of that sooner rather than later I will be so so happy!

In the nicest of ways that post was so positive, it really sounds like you have turned a corner, with the PPIs etc, and the difference to you, its nice for something good to happen to someone nice.

You remember to take care, your a special lady and a your daughter sounds one on a million.

Sounds like shes having a brill time with the Red Cross, DD looking forward to it, they have a trip in March to a waterpark, so fingers crossed she'll get a place. It do her the world of good, in a way i feel guilty as she does some caring, but when were away its the little things that I notice that she has to do, or mis out on, such as going swimming as I can't get in + out of pools unless theres proprt steps and a handle. I can't say thank you enough for your help xx

So glad everything is going well. What's your dd's outfit like? I bet she's excited about wearing it to the wedding? I still remember the new outfit I had for my cousin's wedding when I was 12!
    Good luck with the target!
