Hi everyone :hello:Just popping on quickly to let you know that I am now the very proud auntie of Archie William, born on Thursday at 3.33 pm (half a little devil
) weighing 7lbs 9. SiL had a tough time of it and after 3 hours of pushing had to have an emergency C-section, poor love. She's desperate to come home but Little Man now has jaundice so they have to stay in, hopefully only for a little longer.
Sorry not to see you BB, hope you worked out where I was! Def see you on weekend of 1st x
Also, here's the link to the project we'll be working on in Nepal - it's only a site about the buildings as they have no website themselves but you'll get an idea of where we'll be. Looks v exciting!
Hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend; will catch up properly once I'm home. Lots love to you all xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Bails, that looks absolutely amazing, you must be over the moon to be able to contribute to such a project. Isn't it fantastic that we have so many great people on this challenge/forum? Nobody could ever read this thread in its entirity and accuse anyone here of being miserable, skint layabouts, that's for sure. I am really proud to have 'met' every single one of you taking part here.
SFT, try not to worry about what to wear, just get yourself relaxed and your overall 'self' will take care of how you look.
BB, I hope you enjoy the maintenance course and can make the very most of having your bike without overdoing it. Maybe one day you and OH could have a tandem!
Mollymop, I can't even find that button, so it isn't just you
Off out for our evening stroll now they've finished moving all the sheep. It'll be just my luck to get halfway along the road and they'll start moving bulls next! That would get me running! :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.

Thanks Nyk, it is pretty awesome isn't it and so in keeping with lots of the principles we have on here. The sustainable element is perfect for OH's ambitions :T and we feel incredibly lucky to be able to be part of it.
Aeb, I look forward to finding out what you're having when the time comesMissed SF but hope she has a lovely holiday. Enjoy your trip to Frugaldom SL, I can't wait to visit myself one day! SFT hope you wore something you had and focused on how wonderful your life is right now. I was also very touched by your comment about your two very different relationships - go Mr SFT :T Great news about the arrival of more frugal chickens Natalie! Really glad you got to the bike workshop BB, hope you feel up to more soon. I'm with you all on the designer clothes front, and fashion in general - recently a friend and I commented on how we couldn't tell these two girls apart who we saw repeatedly at the biking weekend as they were always wearing identical outfits and hairstyles, like clones of each other. Aren't clothes meant to be a statement of your individuality?
My mum is amazing at making things so I've asked her to teach me as I would love to be able to alter my own clothes from charity shops to begin with and then make my own outfits/children's clothes. I hope I have some of her talent!
Right, my bro will be home from hospital soon so off I go to make sure dinner is ready.
What a lovely community we have here, full of interesting and inspiring people - I absolutely love it and will miss you all when I can't keep up as regularly xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

I've got up again for a cup of tea so I'm just having a quick catch up. I couldn't sleep for thinking, mainly about all the choices I have to keep making. It's funny how when DH was around he didn't really seem to take much notice of anything, just went calmly along with all my disorganised ideas but looking back I see how he helped me make decisions just by saying the odd word (or not!) and it enabled me to make the right choice. Now I just go round in circles knowing that the buck stops here with me about absolutely every thing, form what's for tea to suddenly realising I'll need a 7 seater car and how do I ever get that sorted. Like why didn't I think of that before, but even if I had I don't know what I'd have done about it.
Bails That is fantastic
Sft I also hate choosing what to wear, I just don't do shopping, never did
xnatalie81x Yes, that right, totally unexpected, not even twins in either family. We joked when we bought this house that I could have a horse or a baby. I think he thought I would choose the horse - and I think I would really but hey ho!:o
And to everyone who has chickens - lucky you - I can't wait but I think it's not practical any more.
My tea is drunk, better go back to bed. Thanks for reading.

Good morning frugal friends
It's been raining through the night but at least I didn't get soaked out there this morning. It's still overcast, but I'll remain hopeful of it staying dry for the race.
Expecting SL around 12ish, just hope it isn't pouring rain by then. Isn't that just typical, after the weeks and weeks of sunshine we've all had.
Aeb, I agree for now on the chicken keeping, I think you'll have tons to do for the next few months and then it'll be winter, but you could always get half a dozen chickens next year, as it might work out cheaper than buying that many eggs every week, plus it would be great fun for the older children helping look after them. It's the early starts and late finishes that tire me, I need a better system but can't can't think about that until after DD's wedding and DS's 21st.
Hope everyone has a great day.I reserve the right not to spend.

Morning all
Looked after my 4yo nephew last night so an unusually early rise for me ....
Taking him and my ds to the kids club cinema later 70p eachand taking my own drinks and sweets
Had a bit of a scare yesterday my MIl who lives around the corner now fell foul of 2 doorstep sellers in 2 days and apparently nothing illegal has taken place???
I fear she may need to go in to care as she has started behaving very oddly she has always had some mental health problems which seem to be enhanced by the onset of dementia she has become like an unruly toddler demanding attention ...........it is sad to think this woman held down quite an important job and now doesn't know what day it is or remember her granchildrens names
not sure how homes work or what they cost(she has money) i think we will be making some behind the scenes enquires whilst keeping a close eye on her.
SL enjoy your visit to frugaldom

Shaz, I really hope things work out for you re MIL's health. Care of the elderly, especially dealing with dementia, altzheimers etc, is certainly a fulltime, round the clock job. Has she been diagnosed by doctors yet? Maybe you could find out about home care, a homehelp, daily meals etc? (If she'll accept help, of course.) Good luck with it all, care of the elderly relatives in families can pose a real problem in our modern societies and residential care isn't always an available option.
Janey, thinking of you and hoping the situation with your mum is becoming a little easier.
It's awful what happens in old age and there is absolutely nothing that anyone can do to prevent it. Scary, really.I reserve the right not to spend.

Morning,
I'm up and about and just going to get ready for my visit, I'm so excited! Nyk, the weather is to clear up, I had a look on the weather site, there just might be a risk of light showers in the afternoon, so the race might be able to go ahead. I've never seen anything like that, so I hop it does.
It is typical that yesterday was gorgeous and look at today! I wish I could have came down yesterday, but it was my turn to do the shop, whilst the sisters laid about at home. Never mind, it will be a good visit regardless. Walking boots and waterproof coats are coming along with me.
Speak to you all later, have a great day everyone!0
