sm, are you a midwife too? I'm thinking of combining my holiday with a waterbirth.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Would a very large water trough suffice? It runs off our water pipe into the field, so you have to time showers between an assortment of animals quenching their thirst, otherwise you risk being scalded. I'm sure SM could keep an eye on you from her bedroom window and, if the bathroom light goes on, you could just throw out a bucket of water to drop the level and divert the flow from the houses. :rotfl:
If everyone's visiting Frugaldom, couldn't I just rent the entire caravan site plus their holiday cottage? The overspill can stay with my other LETS buddies, just bring homegrown produce, pies and cakes - no eggs, please, she already has her own hens. :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

:rotfl:sorry whitewing midwifery isn't one of my skills, but have had 4 births and been present at two more if that's any help:rotfl:
Lol at filling up the caravan site with frunchkins:D0 -
Hi all,
Just a quick post as I want to catch up with all the goings on before I go to bed. I had a lovely day meeting Nyk and HS, had a trip round the frugaldom garden, and met the chickadees and ducks. You can tell I am from the city when I try and identify chickens and mistake them for turkeys. LOL
We then went to the raft race which was something else, I don't know how half of the rafts stayed afloat, but they did!
Then had a good natter before setting off my friend and I stopped off on the way home for fish and chips, then I dropped her off, went in to check in at mum's (by demand of younger sister), and then came home.
Sorry I missed you SM, I'll try and get down again before winter and hopefully we will get to meet each other then.
Thanks again Nyk, we both had a great day, remember if you are up my way or near T's let us know and come in and see me/her/us!
Will check in later. xx0 -
Now Nyk,
I kept my word and my lips were sealed re: the lamp post incident, you have let the cat out of the bag yourself.....................LOL.
It was funny though. I could see the funny side of things after I set myself on fire, at least you haven't done anything as drastic as that, you wouldn't want a war wound like mine.
I'm off to bed, it's Newcastle tomorrow, so I had better be on the ball.
Nite nite all. xx0 -
SL - I admitted to my walking into the lamp post, but I didn't mention your thinking the Araucanas were turkeys, nor did I mention my tripping over that shop sign! So, sssssssssssh... I won't tell a single person if you won't either. :rotfl:Half way through the tablet already, must get HS to hide some so there's some left for SM to try at weekend. Need my Billy Can - summoning all the Will Power possible, oh, oh, nooooooooo.... failed again! Munch, munch... :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.

I'll bring more tablet on my next visit for SM if you eat it all, it seems to have that effect on everyone that eats it - all the old dears at the bingo (my mum is the youngest there), go mad for it!:p Apparently, they fight over it. :rotfl:
I'll also try and make a clootie if I get the time, and if DH isn't around, (he complains about the steam it creates). I know that SM was after a recipie for that (which I will need to look for).
I'm defo away to bed now, nite. xx0 -
Nigh, night SK. Nigh, night everyone. Sweet dreams. I'm mellow - just had a 4 hour telephone conversation with my buddy. (We phone each other back every hour so it's free calls within the call package; don't want to give anyone nightmares of actually spending money).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Good morning all
SL, I have clootie dumpling recipe here, just haven't given it to SM yet - how, on earth, did you know about that? Brain's befuddled now.
Hens & ducks out and about, silkies are feasting on some leftover pasta, Captain Beaky is sounding more and more like a fog horn and Bailey is now relocated to the shed until he's big enough not to fit through the fencing of the runs. Washing machine hasn't spun for some reason, so it's doing that now, then I can get washing out on the line.
Surplus meringue seems to have survived the weekend, can't even remember what thread I posted the question on to, but it was obviously an unusual question that got no response. Apologies if anyone here did and I have missed the reply. Now I'll ask another one - why do my meringues break up so easily? They look near perfect and then collapse in a heap when I go to peel them off the paper; it's as if they've gone hollow, but still have the foamy, chewy bit that I like, so they still get eaten.
I'm guessing it's to do with sugar, as I never buy caster, only granulated.
Back later, hope everyone is doing OK today, hello to all the 'bumps' and soon to be frugalmites, special hello to 'Sam', as SL makes him sound like a cute little kid rather than the cute little dog in her avatar, and hello to my fellow LETS members that are now reading this but haven't posted.I know you're out there, so come on in and don't be shy. :rotfl:

Good morning,
I'm just going to get organised then I'm off to Newcastle. I'll pass on your hellos to Sam Nyk, he missed his big sister yesterday as he was showing off when I got into my mum's place. My dad said he was at the door a few times and was looking out of the window for my car, he then went to the door when he saw it coming round the corner, he is a very clever boy (not a pooch as other people think, namely T) LOL.
I'll need to take my sandwiches today as well, so that I am not buying expensive rubbish ones, your own are always best, and I enjoyed my sandwich yesterday, very nice!
Speak tonight everyone, have a good day. xx0 -
Hi all, glad to hear the meet went well, :rotfl:at the lamp post Nyk!
Aeb, I think you're doing a fantastic job and admire you immensely :T
Hope the meeting with the parent goes well SFT, I'm sure it will. You can't be responsible for the system we have.
Doh, forgotten everything else now! Have read everything and wish you all a great start to the week.
So much to do here, bit overwhelmed to be honestWil take the dog out and then get my list out...
