Boring who are you concerned you will be reported to? If it is your employer then they should have yours and other customers safety at the forefront of security. You acted in good faith and promptly in a situation you thought might turn ugly, nothing will happen. The other customer was probably not glaring at you, but perhaps trying to remember what he came into your shop for!! Maybe he even thought you had called security for something he had done! Don't worry that is what security is for just say I was concerned and not a little scared at his display I wasn't to know that it was a display of domestic violence.
  • Boring-Having been married in the past to an aggressive, nasty person I think you did the right thing. My ex had a poor chap (who got to the petrol pump first) by the collar and threatened him. I just walked away. Another time he overtook a woman who was keeping to the speed limit and forced her to stop. He was so angry and wanted to have a real go at her. I told him if he tried she would lock the doors and call the police. Finally he drove off. The poor woman was probably terrified.
I left him. If I'd had children with him they would have gone 1 of 2 ways: the same as him-i.e. a bully or been terrified of him.
I met Mr SFT and he is the gentlest person I have ever met. I'm so lucky to have been given a 2nd chance at love.

Patchwork-My parents certainly didn't have any spare cash to spoil us with but what they did do was take us out in the car every weekend so we could spend time together. We splashed in fords, fished in rivers, visited reserviors, went on nature walks, sea side etc. No dinners out, ever, just packed lunches. Grew up loving tuna soaked in vinegar.
Now I crave experience over material possessions-going for a walk in the countryside (very MS and totally fulfilling).

I bought my first chickens. Three hens - a sussex... we have named Princess, a goldie we have named Chowder and finally a bluebelle we have called Flapjack. I love them already! And on topic they will save me on eggs when they do start laying (had them 24hrs)

They have enough room to sleep and run around the garden but i shall be embarking on building a proper massive chicken house for them this weekend.

This brought a tear to my eye SFT.

CW - What a lovely story! Thankyou for sharing that

UGH, I have a headache. I have had such a bad two days at work - yesterday was really super busy and today my back is in absolute agony (it keeps on spasming). Think I will go and lie down with a hottie and a DVD for a while. Frugal beau is on a night shift tonight but coming over afterwards @ 6am (lets hope I don't think he is a burglar and end up bashing him a rolling pin!)

Have made ham and pea soup with the left over ham stock, plus a chicken and potato casserole. Have a hair appointment tomorrow and need to go down the tip, plus do a *tiny* bit of food shopping. Other than that, have not planned anything major for the weekend.

Oh, and I found a monthly budget planner in Google Docs which I am trying out.

Hello, everyone. Still dipping in and out when I can, though that hasn't been much lately. It's great hearing about everybody's news - so many ingenious ideas and so much energy. :) My allotment is now starting to produce food in earnest - I've made lots of mistakes but I'll know better next time and it's so satisfying watching the crops come up.
Three big things I've learnt this year:
One courgette plant is (more than) enough for a single woman.
Spinach only exists to bolt.
It's not advisable to dig into a red ants' nest.

Had to laugh at the ad for the witch. Wookey Hole isn't far from me, either. There are lots of witchcraft shops here in Glastonbury and if you'd seen the cost of witchy things like cauldrons and pendulums, you'd know why the job pays £50K. Don't know how those mediaeval hags managed...they must have all been MSE-ers. :rotfl:

I hope this works tonight - I've done a couple of good posts today, and I lost them.

Now - designer clothes. I have never been big on these, I have a lacoste cardigan that I have had forever. That's about it. The rest of my wardrobe is reasonably priced or cheap.:p

DH - he is another matter altogether. He is designer city and a total spendthrift with regards to clothes. He is very materialistic with everything, clothes, cars, the lot. I, on the other hand don't care. We are total opposites on that score.

I have tried to tell him about the clothes but it is like talking to a brick wall. He can easily spend £300 a time on them and does so on a regular basis. I am glad that I don't share money with him, we live seperatly moneywise, because he is away from home all the time.

He looks like something from a magazine, then there's me standing next to him like a scarecrow.:rotfl:

    Good evening :)

First of all, congratulatoins Natalie! CHICKENS! Yeah! Sadly, I can't find the picture on Fac€b00k, can you check the link again please? Ta! :D

SL - Let me know what time to expect you on Sunday as I (or we, if you care to join us) have a most important appointment for us country bumpkins at about 3pm, pending weather. It's the annual fun day, my soon to be SIL is in the raft race and this I really must see! :rotfl: It's a frugal fun day, free parking, free entry to the harbour, usually a few stalls and a Classic car show. If it's pouring rain and windy then no need to worry, as they wont [STRIKE]throw them in the river at high tide[/STRIKE] allow them to race. :rotfl:

Made more meringues tonight, had far too much and have had to store the excess in fridge - anyone know if it will still look like meringue tomorrow? :o
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I like porrige too, I cook it in the microwave to save washing up a sticky pan.

xnatalie81x I've just noticed that your children are the same age as mine, DS5, DD3 and DS1.
I know what my babies are now but not telling till the day - there have to be some surprises. :j:j:j
Got my little helpers digging potatoes today, they got sooooo..excited, nearly as excited as me:rotfl: One root was enough but they all wanted a turn so I have a weeks worth in the bag. Funny though, last year they all liked courgette but this year they have all gone off it. I shall have to disguise it. ;)

I'd missed Mumsy's baby too, best wishes.
    goodnight

    aeb,

    I reckon 2 boys and a girl.

I think mine's a boy, but as he's only two millimetres long at the moment it is a bit hard to tell!
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
