Yes Loans & Beneficial Claims

Hello, everyone.

I have recently (in a moment of panic and stupidity) contacted Yes Loans to see what they could offer me for debt consolodation. I did pay them the fee and thus far no loan has been found for the amount requested. My first question is - what do you think the chances of getting the fee back is, and is there anything I could put in the letter to push them into refunding?

The second question and the part that has bothered me most is I was put on to someone from 'Beneficial Claims', who gave me a bit of a hard sell on the CCA un-enforceable debt malarkey for my credit cards. I told them they could send me the bumf out for me to read, but I wanted to look in to it before agreeing to it and paying the £100 fee, so they did send the bumf out, I read the rubbish in it, then had a look on this website (wish I had looked up Yes Loans here too!!!), and to be honest I think i'm in the - I spent the money, I'l pay it back school of thought. So I phoned the rep I was given at Beneficial Claims and told her I would not be wanting to proceed, she said that was fine, after more hard sells and a few lies.

Then a few days later my debit card was charged the £100 . I would like to know how (if?) I can get this back? Has anyone else had the same? Should this be reported to someone? or will it be a case of her saying she had never received such a call?

I hope someone can give me some advice, and before anyone starts - I do understand it was a stupid thing to do to give these company's my details - lessons learn't.

Incidentally I am glad I didn't get a consolidation loan - I do know its not the best way forward in most circumstances.

Can you PM me the numbers, etc as I have yet to get my money back after over a year.
50 quid is a lot of money, and the amount of people they have illegally scammed should make these conmen pretty rich.
  • Hello,

Never ever get in contact with YES loans, unless you like loosing money for no apparent reason to yourself at all, other than being a victim of the big scam this company operates.
Now this company passes you through to another company called Beneficial Claims if you specify you wouldn like your loan for debt consolidation, only they don't tell you this they put you on hold and you find yourself speaking to someone elsewho manipulates you into thinking they are still processing your loan, once you hand over your bank details for the fee, which you think is for Yes loans ofn £59.00 and to process the application, they then tell you how they will write off your debt who they are and that they will be taking a stagering amount from your account each month, then they call you constantly then on, if you tell them you want no help, remove your details, they say okay but they never do, they push, cheat, lie and then rob you the moment you have money in your account. I just lost over £200 so far and battling to get it back, this company is rude and unfair when you try to fight for your rights, they want your money and do not care about helping your debts, !!!!!!!s!!!
  • Hi,

same here. I was stupid to give Yes Loans a call... Paid them £60 for them to tell me that they couldn't offer me a loan and they've put me through to Beneficial Claims etc. I thought Yes Loans whole marketing blurb was about giving people loans that they couldn't get elsewhere, anyway. Beneficial Claims charged me £190 for nothing. I didn't even signed any paperwork!!!!
I'm going to report them to MOJ & FSA, both of them Yes Loans and Beneficial Claims.
I was told by BC that to get the money back I need to send them a written cancellation. I do wonder how do they operate, I haven't signed anything and they still took my money. I was told by their customer care lady after 20 min on hold that by giving them my card details incl CVV number I have agreed to them providing services! What services! They haven't done anything!

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.

    Thanks

6 month wait on the Yes loans fee, although they will take £5 for their admin costs.

    I've recently claimed mine back.

Firstly I called to tell them I wanted a refund and then followed up with a letter (sent recorded) a month later I got a cheque for £55.

As for Beneficial Claims, phone your bank and tell them the money was unauthorised and that you would like it returned to you.

They may help, if not at least tell them you don't want BC to be able to debit your account in future.

If they say they can't you might have to 'lose' your debit card, then you can cancel it and get a new debit card with a new number.
  • I have also had the unfortuante experience of dealing with beneficial claims, who claim that they can make you debt free. However i also handed over £50 deposit for the service and they also took £131 the following month AFTER i had cancelled my agreement which i faxed over 24hrs after i realised the mistake i had made! This was back in the begining of sept and i cancelled the day after. I rang them to speak to customer services and was put on hold for half an hour!!!! I have now been sent a text message for a new application and i have contacted them and have been told that correspondence will be sent to me within 5 days?? what correspondenc needs to be sent when i haven't signed any documents???
I feel that i may be closer to seeing my hard earned money, however i will let you know.
  • My friend had recently complained about this scam, and also ( Yes loans have recently been exposed on the TV show watch dog.

This company has conned thousands of people into thinking that they have been excepted for a guaranteed loan, then they realise they have only paid a brokers fee instead and nothing more...
