The rules about complaints to claims management companies are here.

    Crucial points are:

You can complain to the regulator only AFTER complaining to the CMC and them either giving an unsatisfactory response or after 8 weeks giving no response at all.

The regulator will not accept a complaint more than six months after you became aware of the complaint so you will have to get cracking!

The regulator does not have statutory powers to award redress like the Financial Ombudsman Service.

BUT, it does put you into a more powerful position if the regulator finds in your favour.

AND if you put the fee onto your credit card and it was over £100 then you can complain to the credit card provider under S75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 AND then take the credit card provider to FOS if necessary.

Convoluted but that is the road you could theoretically take.

  • Hi, we are looking to fight for consumers who have fallen foul of the practices of Beneficial Claims. The problem is that we dont have any of the paperwork that they have sent out or used in order to get money from people. If anyone has had money taken from them by this company, or we fight any claim, would it be possible to send a scan to peteretherinton@hotmail.co.uk

Please remove your personal details (name, address bank account details etc) from any paperwork as it is only the text that we are looking for.

    Many thanks to all
