Welcome to codevolunt (joined last month) and blackstrat who found the forum today! :D

I bet you both searched and found this thread (which is pretty old), and you may not realise there's a whole current parking board all about private parking companies (PPCs):

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

Basically ignore everything, check out our top threads by Crabman for a thread of info 'read this first' and another thread with pics of the debt collector threatograms these scumbags use. Ignore the lot.

You will find a link to a Watchdog report, watch that, show your doubting friends & family and laugh when the glut of rubbish letters start to arrive. Just because a letter or ticket looks official doesn't mean it carries any weight. These PPCs are parasites in our opinion, leeching off the back of real businesses and their customers and relying on threats just like a protection racket, to get money out of people. A Court would not be likely to uphold a PPC ticket (except on very odd occasions, strange circumstances) which is why most PPCs don't EVER actually do Court, they just threaten it.

If you ignore them and their letters, NOTHING HAPPENS. :)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
