Your card details are now in the hands of scamsters. Phone your bank and cancel that card now!

wouldn't it be counted as theft if they use it though? I mean he authorised the initial payment not the full amount they are trying to scam.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I'm sure you're right but on current form the BIB's would probably say "its a civil matter sir"".
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • Hi Guys,
I know you have probably already covered my questions in the various forums/threads, so sorry if I'm going over old ground.
    • I just want to make 100% sure that I'm doing the right thing.

I recieved a "Parking Charge Notice" from our Good Friends at CP Plus- for the usual amount- in relation to parking in a Service Station.

Should I simply Ingnore their letters?
    • Did not know whether to write to their "Appeals" section- just so I have a record of it? (in case it goes to Court... which from what I understand will not happen)
    • However others "forums" have said that if you contact them in any fashion, then they think you might "Pay"- and hence will send more letters.

Basically- I'm scared of the Threat of Court, CCJ's etc/Credit Ratings etc-
I'm learning to "hold my nerve"... I will not pay..just need some guidance.

    P.S.-
I cannot believe that they can "legally" send out these letters.

    Thanks

Sorry to "LynneHow" if I have "moved in" on a thread.
I'm new to "Forums" and was not sure if I should start of new topic-

However since you too had experienced the lovely team at CP Plus... thought better to add to your topic.

Hope this is okay. (Apologise if not)

    Thank

That's all they are .....a threat, and avery hollow one at that

Keep ignoring, it's the easiest and most effective way of dealing with them.

    Hi, all

I had a pleasant surprise this morning as I opened my Birthday mail, which did not exactly make my day!

A letter from CP Plus to be exact, stating that I had spent 2h48m in the car park at Knutsford Services, and that will be £50 please sir. Actually they were not that polite, but you get the gist.

I had stopped on this occasion, on my way home from a week at work, as I felt too tired to continue. Taking the sound advice dispensed by countless matrix signs along all our motorways, I pulled off the motorway, found a space and had a nap. I was not really in a reading mood, so had not noticed, either on the way in or out, the signs they refer to in the letter which allegedly, clearly spell out the parking rules.

I could have a rant about being penalised for doing the right thing with regards to road safety, but that is not the point of this message.

Mr Money in his message did not mention that he had tried to pay, so I would just like to be sure that the advice to ignore this 'fine' applies to any case, whether attempts to pay the initial parking charges were successful or not? I.E. all of these so called 'fines' letters can be safely ignored.

    Many thanks

Ho Codevolunt, ignore this letter, and any others that will follow. It's not a "fine" it's a scam, you owe them nothing. Think of it as a begging letter, because that's what it is really.
I never received a letter from CP Plus, just a letter from Trethowans acting on behalf of them, relating to a supposed parking offence on 10th January this year. I received the letter in April, took the excellent advice on here, and have heard nothing since.
You could get a few letters, or be like me and only get the one, but please.....do not reply, do not attempt to pay, don't do anything. They will go away eventually.
  • Hi all,

I just found this site after researching what I thought was a scam letter from a company called CP Plus for a supposed parking violation.
Thanks to you guys it appears that they are indeed scammers.

Thanks for your postings though, a weight off my mind - their letter was written in what must be a pretty intimidating style if you're elderly or have some stressful event going on in your life.

I'm thinking of writing a reply, just to see what happens.

I'd quite like to see them in court though, has this ever happened anywhere?

Great site though, can't believe I missed it!
