I received a letter today saying important information... Test initials are being removed and they will only use our real initials as they need to provide the regulator with the most accurate independent measurement for improvements etc etc.
Am sure you will all get this later at some point. I reckon it will be harder to tell test letters now.The art is not in making money, but in keeping it!!!0 -

Ah, won't be any changes for me then as I used my real initials anyway before realising they should really be different! Thanks for the info kernalpop.0

I got the note about test initials in my weekly pack. While I get the reasoning or, maybe more precisely, Postcomm's reasoning, for me it will be a bit of a pain not being able to recognise what comes from Kantar instantly. Especially when it comes to some of the marketing materials as I am in the habit of throwing those away unopened; I know I might be throwing away the chance to win some big prize or other doing this, but I can live with that. And it was only the test initials that stopped me junking stuff from Lovefilm and countless magazines (God help me, I'm currently getting "Hello" magazine. I prefered receiving "Gut: An international journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology" to that.) I know that the note states that more info on how to recognise these items will follow, but I still predict test mail will be accidentally junked in the Stumpy household.
Oh, and if they are worried about the mail being recognised does anyone think they should make SMARTs less identifiable when holding an envelopes and stop having a return address on the weekly packs?
SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -
I had the message today too about the initials.
Thing is though, What about the fat brown envelope that we get regularly from Kantar with the name Kantar at the bottom for all to see on it. Surely that's a dead give-away for Mr Postman?** Freebies and money saved with the help of you all? - Don't know ....lost count! **** Stay Safe **0 -

Do you really think that the postmen know who Kantar are? There are many letters like that going through the postal system with company names on & I bet not many of the postmen take much notice of them - just want to get finished especially with this winter weather!0 -
I agree with the point about spotting the test mail. It will be ok with the normal letters but the magazines & junk mail will be a problem, unless they are going to add something different to the posting to help us.
I am not so bothered about the weekly big brown envelope from Kantar though. By the time it gets to the postie, it's the last stage and as someone said, I don't think the postie reads every envelope.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
