You will not receive anything from Royal Mail as it is them that are being checked on! ;)

Some people on here are obsessed with anonimity. Nobody is going to know who they are from just a name!! Also you do not have to shred anything especially envelopes coming to you unless you have the thought police going through your bins to see what you have received. Kantar ask you to dispose carefully of the posting schedules as they give the details of other members of the panel. Don't go the cost of buying a shredder just for this survey - you do not need to. :)

Sorry, but I would personally not be happy if a posting schedule with my name and address on it wasn't shredded?

Doesn't every one virtually have a shredder? Or make mache out of their letters received?

May be I am obsessed but these days with identity fraud rife do you really think being obsessed is a bad thing???? :)

I see from the sheet included in my latest posting pack they are now wanting us to send & receive these larger parcels (like the boxes some of us tested a month or so back) but they aren't paying us any more for the hassle. Not too happy about that!

I got that letter too today and my local post office has an almost constant 30 min queue. I know I've only been doing this for a month or so but I don't really think it's worth the hassle just for a couple of books of stamps in a month! - am getting up to 4 a week to post out and most are within set time limits ie middle of the day, it's too limiting on other things I need to do as I literally can't leave the area on posting days and there's no way I could do this when working with the timings. I haven't even started receiving items yet either!

Compliance with the Data Protection Act is the reason why all panel members need to carefully dispose of any personally identifiable information, such as a person's name or address. Panel members are carrying out the processing of personal data on behalf of Kantar who have a duty to comply.

The same principle would apply to posting panel members' details on this thread or any other public forum, as they obviously did not consent to their personal details being used / shared in this way.

You would be surprised at how easy it is to trace people using publicly available information on the internet.

    Just a thought.

I agree - I also thought "ID thieves" targeted bins for personal information / financial details etc.

You do not HAVE to shred anything!! I did say you should dispose of carefully of schedules - in anyones language that means not just sticking it in the bin without tearing it up properly. NO everyone does not have a shredder - I do but others don't in fact most households don't. Yes, you are obsessed you have said on here before that even envelopes should be shredded. Get a life woman - how many people are going through your bin. Unless you live in a dodgy area the chance of it happening is remote. You see adverts and write ups about identity theft - what do they tell you to do - buy a shredder, buy insurance to cover yourself - its what's called marketing!!
  • Not wanting to get into a slanging match, but I think you have mistaken something I said? I have never advocated shredding envelopes, just the contents with R numbers on and posting schedules.

Also, I have twice on windy days found unopened letters in the street that people have just put into their recycling bins without even opening them and the wind had managed to scatter (On both occasions I bothered to repost these through the appropriate doors) so people do not really need to go through your bins to find info if it is blowing in the streets.

I'm sorry that you seem to have a problem with me but I do have a great life so I don't need to get one, I just would prefer it to remain my own without the stress attendant with identity fraud.

Just had another letter with nothing inside but the smart, have emailed them all the details as without the R number I could not enter it on-line. I am getting a lot through with things written on them and no r number. Is it just happening to me?
Thanks for any help and advice given

Well I've had the email confirmation that I will be "rested" from the panel in "about 5 weeks time". I notice they say they will "most likely" invite me to rejoin in 4 - 5 months but that they might also ask me to do mis-delivery surveys in the future.
